Wings-Sharks game might be postponed tonight
BigWillieStyle replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Sharks forgot to pay the damn electric bill again. Maybe they should play on the ice outside the arena. -
This^^^ It's like we're playing the same team every home game with the current color scheme of white road sweaters. I would like to be able to see all the different colored sweaters and associate them with a different team every game. Though White does have it's drawbacks, like pizza stains or the errant Buffalo wing stain. I just consider them war wounds. Besides, I was brought up, that the good guys wear white.

s***, caught for one of my own pet peeves. I guess no soup for me. But I could care less anyway.

Bert, the second coming of Foppa. Be still my beating heart. By the way, I here he's skating............again.

Draper should be returning this week. That dream can still continue.

How about that "By-foog-li-en" dude in Atlanta? Not really saying he's been "better" than Nick, just way better than I expected him to be. I thought that putting him on defence was going to be a big mistake for Atlanta. His 20 pts. and 0 +/- have kind of proved me wrong. His stock just keeps rising, too bad he's an RFA at the end of this season or i'd say go get him Kenny. Then again maybe the draft pick(s) would be worth it. He does have some of the size and physicallity that we so desparately need on the backend.

Yes, I'm sure that would go over well with the people who paid $90+ for a 46 game package. I'm sure they would really think it's great that someone who paid $25 for one game is sitting in the seat next to them. Think about it.
-
So you're saying, you bought seats, in the upper bowl, (though really good seats), to a midweek game against The Blues, what, a day or so before the game at less than half price? And how does that have to do with the lower bowl being empty? Other than that you wanted to sneak down there. Next time offer the usher $20-$30 and ask him if they know of close to the ice seats that are open. They know who shows up and who doesn't, and who's in The Olympia Room eating and drinking, and what seats are owned by ticket services. They can probably accommodate you quite well, without risking getting throw out for seat jumping.

But it wasn't in Brad Watson's (?) sight because he was way out of position, in the corner, and couldn't see the puck from his vantage point. The ruling has always been when the ref loses sight of the puck, blow the whistle and play is dead. Not that that makes it right, but he actually called it by the book. Isn't that what we as hockey fans ( not just Wings fans ) want? The refs to call the game by the rulebook, even though we may not agree with all the rules in it?

You could always drop the $9G's a year that a pair of lower bowl tickets cost if you're not happy with the current situation. Or you could buy them for twice face value from Stub Hub or Ticket Exchange. Plenty of them available from either place for just about every game... And why do you bother worrying about what other teams fans say? When's the last time the Sharks won a Cup.

At least he didn't get called for the high stick to Franzen. That's a plus.

7-6 Philly midway through the 2nd period
BigWillieStyle replied to St. Michael (the Red Wing)'s topic in General
Best quote from the announcers near the end of the first period. And I am paraphrasing, "Darryl Sitler's 10 point night from the 70's, might be in jeopardy tonight." I had to chuckle hard at that one. -
Nice hit. Would like to see a few like that come from guys with a winged wheel on their chest.
-
Agreed. He left his feet and made head contact, but Moulson completely turned his numbers towards him after he committed to the hit. Players trying to kill themselves to draw a ******* penalty. Wonder what Ritolla did to Colin's son that he deserves 2 games?

Great to see Tampa went for 2 on the extra point. Those Eagles fans must be bummed. -
They could do the deal right now without shedding any players for cap space. But, they have Doughty, J. Johnson, Simmonds, on expiring RFA contracts, and Handzus, Ponikarovsky, and Justin Williams all becoming UFA's. I'm thinking they would like to hang on to most of those players, and the $7million anchor that is Iginla, would only move them backwards. If it was Iggy of 2 years ago, I would say, " yeah, it'll happen ", but right now, I can't see anyone taking on that cap hit for 2 more years the way he has played the last 2 years.

McGrattan and Boyd placed on waivers

We could trade for him and save a million bucks too. Git er done, Kenny. -

I think we can take Boogaard off the list of goons now, and move him to the highly skilled players who can fight list after his goal Tuesday night. 1st goal in 49 fights. Or since 2006, when Anaheim still had that stupid duck bill goalie mask. Way to change your style of play to stay relevant. -
Hiller is probably still taking fluids and oxygen from last nights workout against the Sharts. 41 SOG?!?!? And Lilja once again losing his stick and giving up a goal. Edit- double posted.

I thought that all the 18 year olds had left the state, or were at universities preparing to leave the state. Doesn't marketing read the newspapers?

Funny. Never read an article about Boogaard's skating prowess. Or most of the tough guys in the league today. Hell, half of this sight wanted Downey back. Talk about doesn't apply today. -
Maybe we could get Sammy back in trade for him.

People said that about Kocur, oh about January 1997. Somehow that worked out alright for him... Just sayin' !!! For claritys sake, the above was used as an example only. I am in no way in support of bringing in McGrattan as a reclamation project. -
Right now, I'm of the belief that Hudler sucks, because he's lazy. He just needs to start working a little harder, move his feet, work the puck along the boards, and play with a little bit of confidence. That year of paid vacation really didn't help the little dude at all.

My best wishes to your father. My own Pop went through surgery and radiation twice in the last few years. He's doing well these days, mostly due to the breakthroughs in medical technology in recent years. As far as shaving, I've rocked a Manson-like beard for 30 years, with it only coming off once for an appearance in court 20 years ago. I recently put the # 9 shoe on my Wahl trimmer for a friends funeral. That's about as far as I go. Especially with hunting camp coming up. I'd actually be scared to see what's been hidden behind the beard all these years. On another note, did they send Parros' 'stache to the HHOF for archival purposes. They should have a display for such things. Clark Gillies' beard, Babcocks hair, Lanny's broom. Etc...
