Abdelkader showing what he's learned from May
cupforwings replied to Finnish Wing's topic in General
I can't wait till Abby is back in the lineup during the playoffs/next season... The way he has been developing is great to see. -
Thats what I am thinking... in the article about last game Babcock sounded suprised that switching up the lines worked... It makes sense... Zetterbeg-Datsyuk-Franzen vs Healtly-Thonton-Marleau.. then let the 2nd 3rd and 4th lines battle it out.
-
If they go with Bert on the first line agian I will lose it... That line did nothing last game, and we only started playing good when they moved Franzen to Hand and Pavs line and Bert to Flips line
-
That pretty much sums it up... West>East
-
I hope he comes back... He is somebody very useful on the PP and our third line. He can shoot and put the puck in the net. Him and Samulson were huge reasons the team was so dangerous last year. I though I remember reading somewhere that Hudler had called Holland to wish him a Merry Christmas... Good to see a positive relationship is still there and hopefully he will be coming back next year.
-
interesting to hear that again from another source... I just wonder what it would take to make it happen.
-
agree with this... If they go with the same lineup they did yesterday (to start with), I'm gonna freak out... They couldn't do s*** yesterday. Until Homer is back, they have to put Franzen with Hank and Pav... And Williams should definitely be on the third line. He does have skill and the ability to score, and is finally starting to get back in shape... but the lines above didn't work and won't work... something has to change there
-
They will not keep Zetterberg and Datsyuk together... Babcock has said this multiple times... When they might get one goal a game, it would be smarter to split them up and spread the depth to the other lines.
-
It would be like some weird twilight zone episode
-
Well, he did have a broken leg for half the season which probably has contributed to him not "putting up the number", I would think... plus, we need all the offensive help we can get. Trading Williams would only hurt our depth and ability to score. We can't really trade Williams for anything anyway because we would be getting rid of him to comply with the cap... so I see them trading or waiving either Meech or Lebda, preferably Lebda, and May.
-
This would, and should, never happen... Homer is great for this team and is one of our leading scorers... his power play abilities make him vastly important to this team, and it has shown since he has been gone.
-
Yeah, I thought he played okay for the time he was up here... playing with Lebda for your first few games in the NHL isn't going to help either.
-
The yankees signed Thames too... they are just taking all our players... I think Damon isn't as productive as he used to be, so who knows if the tigers want him
-
I just don't see them trading Cleary at all, not mention he has a NTC. A Kindl is in the plan to be a bottom pair defensemen next year, so I don't see them trading him. They have to get rid of May, but he would be worthless in a trade. Lebda or Meech will probably be gone though, or both. I really don't think they would trade one of the free agents they signed in the offseason, especially because he has been hurt for the most of the year. Truth is, we don't have enough guys we are willing to give up for a decent player. Lebda, Meech, and May are probably the only viable options.

Lecavlier?

Zetterberg makes a great pass to Datsyuk, who in turn makes a saucer pass to Franzen who actually hits the net and scores a goal!
-
No. None of that will ever happen.
-
it looked like a shoulder to shoulder hit and his head hit the ice... He was in a vulnerable position and got wrecked... hope hes ok

Does Holland have the courage to tank this team?

Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN

I begin to worry more and more about how injury prone Kronwall really is... imagine if we didn't have Lidstrom this year... Raflaski or Stuart would have been the #1 -

Yes, Yes, YES!!! The Mule returns!! -
Zetterberg now. Yzerman all time.
-
Thats why are team was so good the last few years. Our third line was full of players, like Flip, Sammy, and Hudler, who are all capable of being second line scorers.
-
I kind of agree with this... I would imagine, if he were to move a decent sized contract, it would be a defensemen for a forward... then again, he might just wait to see how the team plays this week, considering they will finally have a completely "healthy" team (minus Eaves) on Tuesday.
