HAHAHA, same here. I am sitting in class and just started laughing... that is freaking hilarious

it would be interesting... And, I bet he would consider coming Detroit (hypothetically) if he were to be traded, being his home town and everything. He could add another solid scorer to the roster, even though he doesn't put up the numbers he used to... Modano is/was clutch, but I am not sure how much I would give up for him when it came down to it. He will stay a star though, which is how it should be imo.

Although Eklund is unreliable, the Bruins are one team that have talked about getting Kovalchuk. It would make sense for them. As long as he doesn't go to a team in the west, it doesn't really matter. West>East pretty much all around

Yes. I still cannot figure out why everybody hates Williams so much here. He was playing pretty good at the beginning of the season, no worse than any of our other top players. He is defiantly more skilled than both Eaves and Miller, hands down. It's good to have hard working energy guys like them, but they don't have the goal scoring ability that Williams does. He was backchecking, going to the corners, and playing hard before he got hurt. He really hasn't had a chance to play when the team has been playing good... I just can't understand how people hate the guy so much. If you want players like Miller and Eaves to play in his spot, than kiss our playoff chances goodbye. We need more skill if we want to compete.

Let me help you out: "Because Wayne Gretzky, Luongo, and/or other guys with rings were never traded or released, right? Osgood can't play forever, clearly!... so why not give another kid the chance?" Ozzy has not played awful this year and is, at the very least, a solid back up. Your suggesting we get rid of a goalie with 3 stanley cup rings, 2 back to back stanley cup appearances, and is on the verge of winning his 400th NHL game for a kid who has never played one game in the NHL. I fail to see any logic in this argument (if that can be considered an argument) whatsoever. Even if Ozzy is just the backup, what is the point of trading/waiving him? So we can have 2 rookie goaltenders instead of one? Your hatred for Ozzy clouds any reasonable points you have.

Khan predicts what 'healthy' lineup will look like...coaches a

Holmstrom was playing good with Datsyuk and Bertuzzi... yeah, he is not as strong of a skater, but he knows how to be in the position and score goals... Putting him on Helms line would completely ruin our most consistent line, and take the checking aspect out of that checking line. Homer belongs in the top six. Also, why does everybody hate Williams so much.. I still can't figure it out. He was playing pretty good at the beginning of the year and is more skillful than our bottom 6 players. Plus, if you think the wings would trade a guy they signed for one year, your crazy. Williams will give this team more depth when he comes back, both even strength and power play. -
agreed. I hate those staged fights where the guys "fight" each other and then go in the box and joke around... thats my problem with May... Its kind of embarrassing imo... fights like Eaves vs Versteeg is what is supposed to happen: real, passionate fights with legit reasons

that guy makes me laugh

thats hilarious... who would think that guy is one of the best goalies in NHL history
-
lets all thank Filpula for that clutch shoot out goal... good goal Miller!

Filppula (groin) doesn't skate, but will play in Minnesota
cupforwings replied to a topic in General
it seems Babs just acknowledged he doesn't really know who to put in the shootout after the big 3... I would go Filpula, Leino, the Cleary probably... or maybe kronwall -
that hurts... just unbelievable, really. There was nothing positive to take out of that game, except we know Ozzys 5 hole is still weak. Last goal was just unlucky

nhl.com kind of a good article. Its interesting to see how they still think the the Wings are the team to beat in the west, even more than San Jose I bet. Both teams respect each other, but want to be the best, which should make for a good rival in the years to come. The last team Chicago is going to want to play in the first round will be Detroit. That would be epic.

What about Homer? and williams is going to be on the second or third line, what's with the williams hate?
-
that makes me nervous for a game like tonight. He needs to be great tonight, but he doesn't even seem confident in himself. Talking smack in the press about your coach is not cool and not red wing-like at all. Ozzy better have a lights out performance tonight or Babcock won't hesitate to put Jimmy in. A few weak goals are not going to cut it anymore. 2 weak goals tonight and he is out of the game. Come on Ozzy, we need you tonight.

the depth of this team is greater with D and Z split up. Having Filpula centering the 3rd line creates a very solid 3rd line capable of scoring, while giving us one of the best 4th lines in the league with draper-helm-eaves. The first two lines, with Z and D split up will be equally dangerous, both offensively and defensively. The point being, Z and D do not produce enough together any more. Apart, they will produce more. If one line isn't working that night, the other will be just as capable of scoring.

i saw it in 2008 when Homer had it. He put it in his front yard so all the neighbors could get pictures with it. He let us pick it up and everything. Reading the names was easily the coolest part. The history it has is unbelievable.

agreed.. williams has some good hands and a good shot, and he as always been pretty good at shootouts
