http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=510245&...vid=DL|NHL|home So Jimmy Howard's play this year has team USA looking at him as a possible 3rd goalie. What are the chances that he beats both Quick and Anderson for a spot on the olympic team?

I am feeling a 3-2 Shootout victory for the wings tonight.... Goals: Bertuzzi, Eaves..... Pavs with the shootout winner Sharp, Kieth LETS GO WINGS!

Really? He has been for a few months now
-
Franzen will be back earlier than March, maybe earlier than February as well

Wings on pace for 105 points with a $33 million roster...
cupforwings replied to Miller Brew's topic in General
Eaves over Flip makes absolutely zero sense. Flip is our 3rd best center who is skilled, great defensively, and a hard worker... sure, now they may put Eaves with Flip because he has showed some promise, but why replace him; Flip is a very solid and important center for this team... Eaves will hopefully turn into a great winger for this team. Williams is also an important part of this team, being one of the few right-handed shots. He is important for the powerplay, and is a skilled winger as well.. These two are going to be tremendous differences for this team.. Your crazy to think that we can rely on Eaves and Miller as top six scorers now because they had a few strong games.. they will stay in the lineup and will add tremendous depth to this team, but Filp and Williams are going to be the guys that need to perform in high pressure situations... I don't get your reasoning at all -

I agree. For this team to still win games with this roster says something about this organization and team... Also, Howard hasn't made team USA... He has a chance, yet it is very unlikely -
Actually, their chances are exactly the same This looks like a pre season lineup... Fortunately, players are stepping up.. Taking a game against Chicago would be HUGE
-
AHHHHHH, no... this will NEVER happen... Williams will, and should, play when he is healthy, period.
-
yeah, thats what I thought... I was surprised to even see his name on that list over Anderson.... that would be something though
-
EAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is a very winnable game tonight... if they come to play, they should win Wings win 4-2 Goals: Bert, Datsyuk, Eaves, Zetterberg Stamkos, Leclavlier

They still can and will be slit up this year... they don't do enough together to keep them together... If they were getting 2 goals a game then i could understand, but they don't... The last time they were consistently effective playing together (excluding PP) was in 2007... they are both playmakers and make the lines they play on better... apart, they create more effective depth And why does everybody want to waive Williams? I don't get that at all. He is a good player who puts up points and has a rocket shot... How could anyone possibly think of waiving Williams to keep Abdelkadar? I like Abby, but Williams is the better player (as of now)
-
except Holland said he was the "future" of this teams success.......
-
How do you know he doesn't work equally hard in practice whether he is playing good or bad? And I wouldn't say he has been tremendously lucky... every goalie gets breaks throughout a game when the other team misses chances... He has made some big saves a big times (i.e. penalty shot, shootout saves).. but i agree he still needs to work on rebound control and positioning. He has played really well as of late and am very glad he is turning into a legit NHL goaltender.
-
Uh Lilija? He probably won't be back this year.. Also, Helm is guaranteed a roster spot. Abdelkadar, Maltby/Miller/May (one of them) will be sent down as well...

hahah, you are entertaining
