I wouldn't trade Franzen, but Filppula maybe... The thing is, they would ask for a lot for Kovalchuck. However, If Kovalchuk ends up becoming a free angent, i could see the KHL try and scoop him up... I hope not though

thats a page out of the Chris Osgood book.. Being able to mentally overcome a soft goal and continue to have a strong game... Thats probably one of the most important qualities of any goalie. Last night was a perfect example. He knew he let in a soft goal but was able to forget about it and give his team a chance to win.. You can't ask for anything more

Not quite... Patrick Marleau has played 100 times better since he got the C taken away from him... some people just play better without the added pressure of a captaincy... Hank is the obvious choice for the C, but I could see stuart getting an A. Usually, teams like to have at least one of their captains as a defensemen.

I agree. They will turn it on and be competitive as the season moves along. Their still adjusting to losing Pronger. Plus, the teams in the West are so close together, both record and talent wise... but I am just happy this team found a way to win tonight... it always comes down to one thing, effort... if there is effort and urgency, then we will win games... If they don't show up to play, then, well, you know what happens

I would normally be mad that Howard let in that weak goal... but they have failed to score on 6 power plays.... 6! I mean really, this is really bad... Datsyuk and Zetterberg can't get a goal to save their lives
