the best part of Detroit Red Wings: the season was the two lines Babcock had as the ducks coach. I think Babcock would be as good as Rex Ryan was for Hard knocks. That would be pretty cool.

I would say that Ericsson has played pretty well since he has been back from the injury. He has made some really good plays, and has even scored a goal.

:facepalm: What you are saying is: it doesn't matter that our team is top 3 in the NHL right now. Instead, we should kick some of these old players out who are helping be a top 3 team in the NHL replace them with rookies because that will help us in the long run. So, instead of being good now, we should worry about being good in the future. Your logic sucks. They will get their chance when the time comes, probably next year.

what would be the point of a coaches challenge if the league reviews every goal anyway? It's not like they don't go to Toronto if the goal is at all questionable?

sorry, but no. Pav and Hank together make the team better. Our secondary line is a force. Our third line is coming together finally. And our 4th line has been great. Why change up a lineup that is 6-2-1? I don't get this thread.

imo, the 3rd line looks more like a 3rd line now. But in a good way. They still have the ability to score, but now they have extra grit and forechecking. Hudler just gets pushed around out there and is slow. I don't think it will stay like this, but I see that line scoring a goal tonight.

This is really what I would like to see. But on the other hand, I want to see if Hudler can gain back some of his game from 2 years ago. It looks like he is still adjusting. But I think Abby with Cleary and Modano would be a very effective line. It would have speed, checking, and loads of offensive ability. Sounds like a better third line then the current one. But I think Babcock still wants that third line to develop some chemistry...

I agree with the OP... our third line looks like s***. Abdelkadar should get a chance on that line using his physical play to create chances.

It's hard because Hudler can't play on the 4th line because he is slow and small, but he isn't doing anything on the 3rd line offensively. I would put Abdelkadar with Modano and Cleary. At least Abdelkadar can battle for pucks without getting pushed around, and he has offense as well. But then what would you do with Hudler?

I agree with you. Although, Kindl was making some really smart plays in the defensive zone. Little plays that kept the team out of trouble. He is 100 times smarter then Ericsson on D, and he doesn't panic. But like others are saying, E could still turn out to be a solid 4th, 5th, or 6th D man. But I think Kindl will easily be top 4, possibly 2.

I agree with this. He should just keep his mouth shut and let the league worry about the suspensions. He should be more worried about not putting himself in positions to get hurt since he gets injured every 3 games. Franzen is my top 3 favorite player on the team, but that big contract worries me the way he gets hurt all the time. also, the hit doesn't look like it is suspension worthy in my opinion. It wasn't a lateral or blindside hit.
