Yeah, he hasn't been throwing nearly as many cheapshots lately. I think that is partly because McGrattan only played 30 games last year, so he didn't have a guy to stick up for his antics a lot of the time. In the past, Darcy Hordichuk protected him. He'll still raise hell, but not to the extent of throwing a ton of cheap shots.

Rick Nash traded to the New York Rangers

Wow, knew this was coming. People rag on Sather, but this is a good move for them. Their lineup looks extremely well-rounded. Gaborik-Richards-Nash Hagelin-Kreider-Callahan Pyatt-Stepan-Asham Boyle-Halpern-Rupp Haley Staal-McDonagh Del Zotto-Girardi Stralman-Bickel Sauer

Was she surprised when she found out who it was? Did she think he was the kind of person to do something like that?

Flyers sign Weber to offer sheet: 14y/$110m ($56m 1st 4yrs)

Gimme a break. Bertuzzi made sure he'd never think about doing it again.

    Dan Winnik Signs With Anaheim

2-year, $3.6 million deal. $1.8 mil/year, according to various sources. Not a game-changing acquisition, but Winnik is a defensively responsible bottom 6 forward. Not a bad deal for the Ducks.

Yeah, but he has to work for that party.

    Dan Winnik Signs With Anaheim

It is kind of hard to predict at this point, but it'll be interesting to see what Anaheim' lineup will look like.

He'll never be allowed in the NHL again.

The upside of Weber going to Philly: It will be even more difficult for them to acquire Bobby Ryan. But then again, we're talking about Paul Holmgren. He can do anything.

With cap space to clear, do Flyers become a Wings trade partner?

Hell no. If we're gonna trade for a bottom pairing, shut-down defenseman, if better be either John Erskine or Steve Montador. If we don't go the trade route, then it better be Jim Vandermeer.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by this act of senseless violence. Society gets more frightening with every day that passes.

Hartnell is a UFA next summer. I'd also like Simmonds, as well.

T.J. Oshie Re-Signs With St. Louis

A 5-year deal worth $20.875 milion. $4.175 mil/year, according to TSN. Scored 54 points in 80 games last year. Good for the Blues to keep him around. Was wondering what the deal was with him.

To Philadelphia: Johan Franzen Valtteri Filppula Patrick Eaves Cory Emmerton Draft pick To Detroit: Wayne Simmonds Scott Hartnell Jody Shelley Niklas Grossman Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Hartnell Simmonds-Brunner-Samuelsson Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi Miller-Abdelkader-Tootoo Shelley/Nyquist Kronwall-White Quincey-Ericsson Grossman-B.Smith Kindl Problem?

Hopefully with a ring leader, so to speak, guys like Abdelkader and Ericsson will play with more edge.

We all loved Fedorov even after he signed Carolina's offer sheet. Canucks fans still love Kesler, even though he signed Philadelphia's offer sheet.

That seems logical Maybe I'll like Steve Ott now, too

Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

Which is why, regardless of how much hate he gets on here, I still don't mind Drew Miller. Not my favorite player, but he's a PK specialist. That's his role, and he does it well.

With cap space to clear, do Flyers become a Wings trade partner?

Agreed. If he doesn't re-sign with Philadelphia, he'll be one of my first choices, as far as top 6 forwards go. I used to hate him. I don't know what happened, but I like him now

He always goes hard to the net, he's physical and scrappy, and capable of scoring 30+ goals/year. He's become an extremely well-rounded player. You can't say that about many players.

    The person below me game...

I've heard a few by him. "Mandy" was the name of one, I believe. The person below me listens to Rage Against The Machine.

I think he meant the 2007 giveaway. Simmonds is really developing into a legitimate power forward. We'd have to give up another top 6 forward for him. I think Philly would be more likely to trade Hartnell, however.

$13 million signing bonus? $14 million/year for the first 4 years? No wonder we're heading for another lockout.

Nope. Speaking of healthcare, the person below me has read HR 3962 (Obamacare) and is absolutely horrified.
