I'm not sure the NHL could survive another lockout.

Flyers trade JVR to Leafs for Luke Schenn
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to ogreslayer's topic in General
Supposedly Toronto isn't done making moves. It'll be interesting to see what they do in free agency. They desperately need a goaltender, as well, hence the Luongo trade rumors. -
We Need to Get Tougher to Play Against

The bottom 6 needs some identity. Prust is the guy we're looking for. I guess he was offered $1.8 mil by Sather, but wants $2.2 mil. -
So What's Up With Abby & Quincey?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to LeftWinger's topic in General
Figured Abdelkader would've been re-signed the same time as Helm. I think it is just about necessary that we keep Quincey, due to the mass exodus on defense this summer.- 80 replies

I'm not surprised at all that he hasn't done anything. The asking prices always seem to be too high. If you don't like Hudler, you're not gonna like Semin. If we sign him, hopefully the change of scenery can help him. Haven't heard much about Doan lately. Can't imagine him in a sweater other than a Phoenix sweater.

Brothers are united once again. Philly will be a fun team to watch this year. -
Suter already said he won't play in the East. They're obviously clearing space for a big splash, but Suter won't be their big splash. Hopefully he can pan out. Watched a few vids of him. Seems like he can throw em. Question is, can he play?

Good to see management is realizing this. According to the Chicago Sun-times, the Hawks are actively looking to trade Niklas Hjalmarsson and Steve Montador. If we could get Montador for cheap, he'd be a solid 7th defenseman capable of competing for a regular spot on defense. -

First time I've been on LGW in a while. Looks nice. Great job guys When viewing your profile, your number of posts per day isn't displayed anymore? Language filters now? Ew. I don't remember a ton of obscene language on here..

We Need to Get Tougher to Play Against

If teams employ enforcers simply to get the fans in the seats, how come teams like Chicago, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, NYR, and Montreal dressed enforcers this past year? None of these teams have problems with attendance, and would have drew just as well without enforcers. Therefore your theory dies. Also, I love how you completely ignored every other play I mentioned on LA besides Clifford. What about King, Nolan, Fraser, Greene, and Mitchell? They're not worth mentioning, right? -
We Need to Get Tougher to Play Against

"The Wings would have won if they played like the Kings"....In order for us to play more like the Kings, we need to add a little snarl to our lineup (Which LA's lineup has, in the forms of King, Nolan, Fraser, Mitchell, Clifford), hence the list of players that would help us play like the Kings. But you're right, I just want a bunch of goons in the lineup to pile up penalty minutes. The list would have featured more top 6 players and 1st pairing defensemen, had it actually been focusing on top 6 players and 1st pairing defensemen. Had it been about top 6 players and 1st pairing defensemen, it would have turned into another Parise/Suter thread, just like every other ******* thread so far this summer. Also, Pavelski and Brown are diving pieces of s***. I don't want either of those dickwads on the team, so that's another reason I didn't bother to mention them. You caught me though. I just want nothing but goons on the team, which is why the whole list is full of absolutely nobody but talentless goons that can barely stand on their skates like Pyatt, Oshie, Carter, Slater, Campbell, Burish, Downie, Martin, Tootoo, Winnik, Crabb, etc. -
To Detroit: Chris Neil Matt Carkner Zach Smith Nick Foligno To Ottawa: Justin Abdelkader Hudler's negotiating rights Jakub Kindl Cory Emmerton Dan Cleary Seems legit.

With Colorado bringing back Matt Hunwick, I think Shane O'Brien will walk. He'd be my first choice to play on the 3rd pairing on the blueline. -
4th line grinder with some offensive touch. Not afraid to drop the gloves. Pisses me off with some of the antics (diving) though. He's had a great year with the Devils. I expect New Jersey to bring him back. If they don't, I'd be happy to have him in Detroit.

I'll continue to keep the original list updated as guys re-sign with teams. -Derek Dorsett recently re-signed with Columbus for 3 years. -Derek MacKenzie re-signed with Columbus for 2 years. -Clayton Stoner re-signed with Minnesota. -Jamal Mayers re-signed with Chicago. Just something else to discuss while we speculate about Lidstrom -
Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to ogreslayer's topic in Hall of Fame
I highly doubt Nick is calling all of this attention to himself to announce he's coming back. Hope I'm wrong. I have to think that Holmstrom is done, as well. 11 AM tomorrow is not gonna be fun. -
Quite an interesting start to the 2011/2012 season. Mr. Shanahan is fairly busy already. I'll do my best to keep this list updated as they accumulate. Jody Shelley: Remainder of preseason play and 5 regular season games for hit from behind on Toronto's Darryl Boyce. Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond: Remainder of preseason play and 1 regular season game for hit from behind on Vancouver's Matt Clackson. Brad Staubitz: Remainder of preseason play and 3 regular season games for hit from behind on Columbus' Cody Bass. James Wisniewski: Remainder of preseason and 8 regular season games. Brad Boyes: 2 games for hit to the head of Toronto's Joe Colborne. J-F Jacques: Remainder of preaseason play and 5 regular season games for leaving bench to instigate a fight (in the last 5 minutes of a game). Tom Sestito: Remainder of preseason play and 2 regular season games for hit from behind on the Rangers' Andre Deveaux. Brendan Smith: Remainder of preseason and 5 regular season games for hit to the head of Chicago's Ben Smith. Clarke MacArthur: 2 regular season games for hit to the head of Detroit's Justin Abdelkader. Pierre-Marc Bouchard: 2 games for high stick on Columbus' Matt Calvert. Kris Letang: 2 games for hit from behind on Winnipeg's Alexander Burmistrov. Andre Deveaux: 3 games for hit Max Pacioretty: 3 games for hit to the head of Pittsburgh's Kris Letang

Predators bench Radulov and A. Kostitsyn for Game 3 of WCSF
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to edicius's topic in General
Good on Poile. Hopefully Radulov goes back to Russia after this year. He can take Kostitsyn with him. Radulov has been beyond lazy this round. Like unbelievably lazy, considering he's in the playoffs. Show some heart. Hopefully Tootoo gets the nod tonight. He's fallen victim to a lot of young depth up front. I wonder if he is in Nashville's plans going forward after this year? I think Nashville will look something like this up front tonight: S.Kostitsyn-Fisher-Erat G.Bourque-Legwand-Hornqvist Halischuk-Gaustad-Tootoo Yip-Spaling-C.Smith -
What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to LeonardSankar's topic in General
I'd be pretty annoyed if Holmstrom came back next year. Sucks to say that, but he is no longer capable of playing a top 6 role, and he can't play an effective checking role. I love Homer, but it's time he hangs them up. It seems clear to me that Stuart is gone. Obviously, Lids' decision will dictate how we go about remodeling our defense in free agency. Hopefully he comes back, but it seems up in the air. Hudler is gonna want a steady raise, and I could care less if we let him walk. I wouldn't mind trying out someone new for the top 6. -
