Fellow LGW brethren, I am in need of some honest opinions here. Although I am a huge Detroit Red Wings fan, I do not limit myself to watching only Wings games. I've got Center Ice, so I follow everything that's going on around the league, and although I enjoy Detroit games the most, I consider myself a fan of the NHL in general, as well. My question is this: Am I betraying our beloved Detroit Red Wings by purchasing merchandise of another team, or am I just being a "well-rounded" hockey fan? Do any of you guys/gals have merchandise (Jerseys, etc.) Of other teams? Thanks in advance for your advice. Sincerely, Bring Back The Bruise Bros

Recent Poll Shows Visor Usage up 10% From Last Season

My link Interesting article. To be honest, I am surprised White continues to play without one. I still believe it should be optional, but I see why more players are moving in that direction. Guys are constantly switching to and from the visor. Marc Methot switched to it beginning this year. Paul Gaustad started wearing one this year. Zack Kassian wore one up until a few games ago, and now goes without one. I noticed tonight that Bryan Bickell ditched the visor. The numbers are always fluctuating. Discuss. -

I was unable to watch the game. But sounded like another exciting game. Good to see we're still in the hunt for a playoff spot. -

I'm thinking I'd look good in this: I can't find a Boogaard name and number shirt (Rangers or Wild) anywhere. -

I hope so. Usually, I'm pretty critical of how they determine suspensions (I don't believe you can suspend a guy for a hit because the receiver of the hit is injured. Neither do I believe a suspension of a bad hit should be longer because the guy was injured on the play. Suspend for the action, not the result, and I will always stick by this). Bourque's hit was dangerous and is a textbook example of what I (As well as many others) would like to see out of the game. A few games seems fair. -
Chicago Blackhawks

This. In the OP, I made it sound like Crawford and Emery have been lights out. Crawford and Emery have been playing well enough to get them by, not spectacular. With Seabrook out indefinitely after taking a cheap shot from Rene Bourque, there is no doubt that their defense is their problem, now. They allow 29.1 shots on goal/game. If their offensive firepower is stifled, and they are forced to win close games, their defense and goaltending may let them down. They're on a 5 game winning streak. 4-2 win over Calgary earlier. Emery faced 24 shots tonight. -
I think his great play has been overshadowed by the Ducks lack of success this season. They're last in the Pacific, 14th in the Western Conference. However, at the age of 41, Selanne has scored 27 points in 27 games. Had 2 assists in Anaheim's 3-2 win over the Kings tonight. This guy is a true hockey legend, and he has made it clear he remains one of the elite players in the NHL. Currently 24th all-time in scoring, and he will move up on that list before his days are over in the league. Just something else to discuss since our Wings caught the short end of the stick tonight.

You're such a soft Euro, Konnan. I keed, I keed. I look forward to the next enforcer debate

Concussion more serious than they first believed?

Put up 2 points in his return to Winnipeg. 33 points in 32 games. Hopefully we see a few more years out of this guy, because there is no doubt he can still play.

Hopefully for Ottawa, Michalek isn't out too long. Runblad was the odd man out with Carkner just getting back. Ottawa currently sits 4th in the Northeast, but just 1 point behind both Toronto and Buffalo.

We're on a roll, fellas. Our bottom 6 looked stellar, especially Miller and Emmerton. Good to see our defense clearing the crease and not giving away extra pokes at Jimmy. This is the definition of a complete game. We never let up, and we played fairly physical. Ian White was such a great signing by Ken. He's had a great year thus far. These are the kinda games I really enjoy watching. It was funny watching Colin Fraser running around there acting like tough s***. I would've really liked to see someone beat his face in, guy is a pathetic fighter. Seems a coaching change wasn't enough to wake up the Kings. -

Agree with everything in this post. Newf, you get it, my man. I've got a huge list of guys we should consider that can put up a few points and play physical and I'll be posting it many times in the future. Everyone knows my thoughts on this. -

Lucic should be getting a suspension for his cheap ass hit on Rinaldo earlier today. Can't find a video just yet. Seeing how McQuaid got away with murdering Foligno's knee, who knows if Lucic will even get a call. -
Chris Pronger to miss remainder of 11/12 season & playoffs
Bring Back The Bruise Bros replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
The Flyers looked horrible today. 6-0 loss to Boston. With their main man on D gone for the remainder of the year, Holmgren has to have something up his sleeve. Maybe he could pursue Shea Weber? Seems unlikely, but if Nashville feels it is unlikely he will stay, they could pick up a guy like Jakub Voracek in the process. If Giroux is placed on LTIR, Weber's salary would be able to fit, I believe. Matt Walker is making $1.7 million, and he's being scratched in favor of Kevin Marshall, so it seems he could be on the move if a big trade goes down. Maybe Matt Carle is dealt? Who knows the severity of Pronger's concussions. Always a possibility, but who knows. Just tossing it out there -

I don't have a Crosby or Kane shirt on my list I've got a list of players' shirts or jerseys that I refuse to get. Kane, Crosby, Malkin, Chara, and Pronger are included. Some girls can pull off a baseball cap, so don't eliminate that possibility just because you're a girl -

We played a solid game, sucks we couldn't hold onto the lead. Weber has a cannon. Good game, though. -

I like McQuaid, but there is nothing accidental about that. Pretty cheap s*** if you ask me. A few games seems fair. Better believe he'll have to answer for that one the next time these teams match up. -

Carcillo started out well, but Staubitz tied him up well and used his reach to his advantage at the end.
