Valenti & Foster say this all the time, yet when McCarty did some fill-in time on their show awhile back the phone lines were lit up with hockey fans. Hockey just isn't their thing. I just get the impression that they don't know much about it, let alone the Red Wings considering Valenti isn't even from Michigan, he's from New York. They're more about NFL/NCAA football and some Tigers talk. I have noticed more hockey talk in the later hours on Caputo & Fithian with callers when I used to listen, especially if they bring in Ken Kal, but I honestly didn't like that show either just because of the hosts. I did like that Wings fans would call in and ask questions, getting educated about something by Ken. Very little drivel you'd usually hear about other topics that fans want to voice their opinion of, like some outrageous trade that will never happen for example. Sports radio nationwide just stinks. I guarantee you almost every sports radio show makes their callers say a catch phrase like "Hey, love you love the show" or "First time, long time." and they play a stupid sound clip followed by an awkward pause by the caller, then continues on to babble his idiocy about anything sports related before being cut off by the smug, condescending radio host. I've never liked the atmosphere of it and I'm glad I stopped listening.

Yup. Between him, Sproul, Ouellet and Jensen it'll be interesting to see how these guys fair in 2-4 years along with Kronwall, Ericsson, Smith, Kindl, DeKeyser and Quincey. Plus there's still Almquist who I'm still holding out hope for-- he seemed to pick it up later in the season and is putting up alot of points in the playoffs for the Griffs so far. Oh, and can't forget about big, mean, nasty McKee...

I don't know what you mean by going against the Wings, but I do think Melrose would always pick the Sharks to win the SC it seemed. He seemed to get a lot of his picks wrong IIRC. Never heard him say anything bad about the Wings though, mostly praise.

Yzerman's goal against the Blues was one of my favorites, and the one where he roofed between the crossbar and Roy's shoulder and trying to figure out at the time how the hell he was able to do that. Also, that McCarty goal against Philly was one of my favorites. Also loved Roy showboating like an idiot-- you don't have the puck, stupid! Also, Larionov's backhander on Irbe. Also, watching Hasek celebrating for the first time. Also... ah, there's too many! I remember jumping up and down for all of them! Thank God for youtube and Awood40! Coolest part about the video in my opinion was the transition over the years, players coming and going, old stars passing the torch to the future stars, the continued dominance...and Lidstrom was there the whole time.

The only person to blame for this is Jim Buss. I don't even like the Lakers and I hate that guy. Completely mishandled use of a team with more talent than last year that theoretically should have went deeper in the playoffs.

Filppula has to keep it simple entering the zone. He tries to act like Datsyuk with his one-on-one moves this season and it turns into a turn over on the rush almost every time.

I don't know if there is any highlight videos for broadcasting, but Pierre was basically drooling over the Wings' defensive zone breakout passes, mainly DeKeyser. Then later he overheard Abby chirping at Doan and Doan replied "You have 11 points playing with Datsyuk, you should be ashamed of yourself."

You're probably right. I think he's just out of his comfort zone right now, going from a swiss league to directly under Babcock and the grind of the NHL. He did start off good but yeah, he's still adjusting imo.

I agree with Tatar and this is where I feel Holland is being a hypocrite. The kid clearly won a spot on the team and he should be playing. As far as anyone wanting to put blame on Babcock, I just don't understand that when he's given him enough time for a rookie and even used him on the powerplay. I feel like Miller deserves to be on the team. He's been very good in his role and I'd like to see him stay over Eaves, but I think you're right, he's most likely gone after the season along with Cleary. That's a good point. I wonder if Holland had Tatar as one of the prospects he tried to trade away at the deadline to give him a chance to play elsewhere like Calgary so we could keep size up front + Bouwmeester.
