Practice? You talkin' bout practice?
-
I think the last time they scored 5 goals in the 1st period was when Hossa was on the team. Might have been against the same team, not sure. EDIT: Against Edmonton, Feb 7, 2009.

Oh God, please.

What's most surprising about this, is how ahead he actually was in points: Player Points 1st Place Votes Justin Verlander, Tigers 280 13 Jacoby Ellsbury, Red Sox 242 4 Jose Bautista, Blue Jays 231 5 Curtis Granderson, Yankees 215 3 Miguel Cabrera, Tigers 193 2 And all this time we thought it would be a longshot for him to beat out an everyday player, seeing how they shafted Pedro Martinez years ago.

Flip really deserved that. He's played great tonight.

Sounds like it could be more in our favor if we meet them again in the playoffs. With the set plays mentioned above, perhaps it could help us overcome those 1-goal decisions that we always seem to lose to the Sharks by.

Lions vs Bills Superbowl. In your heart you know you want this to happen.

I blame Amway.

Shoot the puck Huds! -

Hudler invited him in for an opportunity to ground and pound. Luckily the refs broke it up before Hudler could get off a triangle hold.

Pretty entertaining game so far.

Shanahan's on the team so that's all that matters. I just realized Crosby's not on it.

Let me try-- BAAAWWWWWWW! OUR BACKUP CAN'T GET SHUTOUTS I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE CAN'T WIN EVERY GAME R PLAYERS R PIECES OF s*** WE NEED TO GET PARISE N WEBER N CALL UP TATAR -
Well with the amnesty clause we can get rid of one of them. I guess flip a coin between Rip and Charlie since Prince's contract ends after this season (if there's any).

There was some speculation after last weeks game that perhaps Stafford did something to his shoulder and that explains why he was playing so conservative and not throwing downfield the last two drives of the game to try to win against the 9ers. Not sure I buy it, I think it has more to do with the way we play offense and defenses know how to defend now. The Lions right now look like a big play team, and when you take that away there's been lots of 3rd and longs that we have trouble converting. I think yesterday they went something like 1 for 10 on 3rd down conversions. Lack of a power run game also hurts us. Ronnie Brown would've helped lots IMO but for the sake of Harrison's health I'm glad that trade didn't go through. Not to mention, Stafford isn't the most accurate of passers.

I love that setup. Everytime Lids goes to the net after passing it's going to be a Kronwall one-timer.
-
I wouldn't say SF is a layup. Very good defense and they're playing very good offensively as well. Smith has been playing much better under Harbaugh and Gore is one of the best backs in the league IMO when healthy. Can't forget the freak Vernon Davis too. It's gonna be another tough game; good thing they're playing them at home. If our crowd is loud enough again to make it hard for their offense I could see another score similar to last week's.
-
I agree. Luckily I was at a wedding so I didn't have to see this mess of a game. At least we got to see a special season from this team and hopefully they're improved enough to do it again next year and go all the way.
-
That will get buried quick.

Huge win! And Fister was absolutely phenomenal! Let's hope they build off this.
-
Seems our offense went back to pre-September. HAVE to win tonight with Fister on the mound.
