CAN'T WAIT! Looking forward to a Gordie How Hattrick by Hudler.

I still have no idea how they won it. Playing away at Yankee Stadium, crowd going crazy, and they somehow only allow 1 run on two bases loaded. Craziest game (and series) I've seen in a while. I just gotta say, once Valverde got Cano out, I knew it was over with "K"-Rod coming up.

WOO HOO!

Seguin is playing great.

In hindsight, that first inning was the deciding factor of the game. He was clearly mentally shook, Yanks already had their bullpen warming up, and bases were loaded... and the Tigers couldn't change the outlook of the game right then and there. After that, like you said, something happened out of the dugout between them two, whether it's a change in his mechanics, his mentality, I don't know. All I know is Burnett was unhittable after that for most of the game. Granderson was unbelievable too. Makes me miss him more and more.

Can't believe they lost to A.J. ******* Burnett.

Nice. Two records broken in 1 game. I've noticed we also have the highest turnover ratio. I think during this Monday night game our D-Line is going to be very amped up and wants to show just how dominate they can be; Cutler sacked 5 times and throws for 4 INTs. I just hope the line can stay onside.

Kelly over Maggs eh? Interesting but I like it. Kelly's been a good contributor so far.

whew!

No kidding. That was the worst case scnerio IMO: Scherzer pitching at Yankee stadium. But he proved me and the doubters wrong and pitched great and gave the Tigers a much needed win. I have to say though, that 9th inning almost gave me a heart attack. I'm sure everyone besides me was thinking the Yankees were going to pull it off right after Avila slipped. Thankfully they didn't. Tomorrow they need the crowd rocking and get to C.C. early. HAVE to win tomorrow and take it to Burnett in Game 4.

Well that was a nice waste of the aces. At least we'll have Verlander at home from the sounds of it.

We have to lock him up. <---Cpt. Obvious

I was watching both the Braves/Phillies game and the Yanks/Rays closely. Knew history would be made somehow. Longoria looked like he was on a mission last night and came through big. The Braves were so close too, been a long Chipper fan and he was so close to winning the game for them in I think the tenth with that long hit that would've sent Bourn home (from first base! kid is super fast), but I think it was Martinez that made that amazing catch. What a great night. Respect to Manuel too, playing the game with integrity unlike Girardi (and Sciosia if you believe he pulled Weaver and Santana on purpose and played 5 rookies). Btw, it's looking like Fister will start in game 2 against Nova-- Scherzer going in Game 3 and Porcello Game 4 if needed. I'm feeling pretty confident in this series going with Verlander and Fister first.

This whole conference sucks. I already knew going into the season that Michigan would be slightly improved but still not good enough, but I didn't think State would lay down like they did against ND. Iowa looks terrible as well, and throw in everybody else excluding Wisconsin. I don't even think Nebraska is that good. It's shaping up to be another lackluster year for the B1G.

Ozzie Guillen traded to the Florida Marlins after being denied a contract extension from the White Sox.

Cleveland loses. Magic number down to 1.

So what you're saying is he's going to be the new upcoming player that LGW will hate the most?
-
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure Hudler could even pull off an arm bar.
-
Does this mean Big John McCarthy is going to unretire and become an NHL ref for our home games? Is Joe Rogan going to replace Mickey to call the games? And who is Hudler going to face in his debut? I'm predicting Hudler over Semin, arm bar.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6958966/the-survivor Interesting piece I thought I'd share talking with Stu Grimson and the recent suicides and deaths of hockey enforcers.

I thought today was going to be the day that the Tigers finally give up a loss with Penny pitching. I was right up until the top of the 9th and 10th.

Thompson has done a great job but it's apples and oranges at this point. Mayhew was given an 0-16 team with Calvin and Backus as the only legitimate starters. In 3 years under Mayhew, in Pioli-like fashion, he's done great into turning garbage into mid-late picks and providing solid depth on the roster (finally) as well as making some key FA signings. I shutter at the players that Millen thought was good enough to compete at a high level but in reality would be 2nd-3rd backups. I'm now at the point where I expect this team to win. They proved to me last season that they had the talent to keep it close but was without experience to get over the hump. This season I think they get over the hump, but are still 1-3 years away from being contenders considering they still have a bad line and the LeShoure injury could take him 2 years to be 100% or it could affect his play for the rest of his career (I'm hoping for the former obviously). The secondary looks solid, but is nowhere near what GB has. So all in all, there's still areas of improvement, but I don't think they're that far off from contending the division like you think they are. After all, we lost a heartbreaker in Lambeau last season and got revenge the second time. Oh, and no injury excuses, our 3rd string QB beat you!

It's pretty amazing they've been on this streak considering they have Penny in the rotation.
