Might as well tank and get that high draft pick just in case there is a lockout. We can't defend the paint, guard the perimeter, get back on transition, communicate and our coach looks like he hasn't learned anything from last season. Lots of jawing back and forth, coach calling the players out and the players calling the coach out. They obviously don't want to play for this idiot. We don't have a true point guard after trading Billups, Stuckey has failed as a project and is only effective at the 2, no center, and Q's rotations are a head scratcher. Sucks too because this team does have a lot of talent, just no chemistry or an attitude and no motivation to win. It's like they gave up already.

Totally ignoring their 3. UH OH WE HAVE 1 MORE PP THAN THEM WE'RE GETTING THE CALLS! Okay I'm done. Just gonna watch the rest of the game EDIT: Actually it's 4-4...so ya'

This one's my favorite: You know what? I hope we get all kinds of calls going our way and we smoke them 8-1 or something like that. I really hope we get a Colton Orr type goal, like Holmstrom just knocking Kipper out of the way giving Datsyuk a wide open net. I will laugh my ass off then I will go on their board and enjoy a fresh glass of tears from those ******* idiots.

Wow. That's all I gotta say. Props to the Giants for winning, but I was surprised all the way.

That sucks.

I agree with this, as long as there's no home-ice advantage rule in the finals for whichever conference team wins the All-Star game.

Jimmy's out w/back spasms, MacDonald recalled
dropkickshanahans replied to CapnSmitty's topic in General
Now if we can get Joe Byrd to train them during the offseason as well, we won't have to keep hearing posters like GMR complaining about the lack of enforcers on the team. Training with kettlebells is really underrated. They're fun, work every part of your body for strength and conditioning, and are much more effective and than the crap you see in commercial gyms. Too bad they're expensive as hell. Kettlebells+olympic free weights > Smith machines or any other fancy gimmicks. -

New Jersey's situation about to explode

I thought the reason they scratched Kovy was because they weren't able to ice a full team? -
Are hockey hits harder than football hits?
dropkickshanahans replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Technically, the average runningback's career lasts 2.6 years and the average career of an NFL player is 3.3 years. But we all know that this is a lame average statistic since it includes cuts, releases, playing time, injury, whatever else you can think of. If you're a successful starting runningback, barring no major injuries, you should be able to last at least 8 years. The average career span of an NHL skater and goaltender is a little over 5 years. But just like I said above, this stat includes EVERYTHING. If you're a successful player, whether you're a top line scorer or a pesky grinder, barring a major injury you will see longevity. -
Perhaps still a chance for Lidstrom to win another Norris?
dropkickshanahans replied to WMUCarGuy's topic in General
Hell, if Nick wins the Norris then I doubt he even retires. -

Well, that of course depends on the position, so I somewhat agree. You can expect a good 8-10 years out of your runningback before he's completely broken down compared to say a lineman like Kevin Mawae. -
There's definitely shoulder contact first. The rest of it I can't tell without HD, but from the video jolly posted it looks clean to me.

I kept thinking that too. I don't know much about teams from the NL, but apparently the Giants have very good bullpen pitching too. I mean I knew about Brian Wilson but that's about it. But I wonder how they'll hold up against the Rangers offense. Ron Washington did a lot of aggressive base-running against the Yankees and it really paid off. Not that he needed to since I doubt he realized the Yankees pitching and lack of offense was going to be horrible. I look to see him doing the same thing against the Giants to generate runs. This series could go either way, but I just can't see the Giants winning. I couldn't see them beating the Phillies either, but then again that was a horrible offensive showing the Phillies had. Terrible at-bats mainly, especially by Howard, but that's not surprising since he strikes out all the time. I just have to believe that for how the Rangers offense is going and the Giants inability to generate runs, since they left a crapload of people stranded on base so far, I just have to go with my head and say the Rangers take this. With that said, the Giants keep proving people wrong.

"Why I hate this obnoxious hockey team"
dropkickshanahans replied to wingsownnhl43's topic in General
Well it's not suppose to be an insult as it is more not liking the way they run (in our case ran) their team. People just hate the Yankees because it was the thing to do this past decade since they came off winning 4 championships in the 90's and 2000 with a team they actually BUILT through the draft, and then after their heartbreaking 2001 WS loss to the Diamondbacks, Steinbrenner and Cashman wanted to keep that success going so they decided to dump money into their team by bringing in expensive free agents. Thing is their success as far as championships never continued (until last year), and they were always a team of overpaid players that could never go all the way. The Wings were the same sort of, built their team through the draft, made a couple trades, won a few championships, then decided to bring a bunch of Hall of Famers to keep the success going, getting one championship out of it before the salary cap era began. Only thing I do not understand now is that why were the Yankees considered a team that bought championships, when they could never win a championship after they decided to sink millions of dollars into the roster? Why are the Wings still considered the Yankees of the NHL when we're about 5 years into the salary cap era? These are some of the things I just don't get why some people still hold onto. -

That was the worst hate article I've ever read. A Blackhawks fan could do much better than this garbage. -
I'd rather watch Lincecum vs Halladay. Well that's a half hour later so I'll get to see the first period at least.

Just one more win and we can get a bowl game. A s***ty bowl game, but it's a start after 2 horrible years. -
Players you've always wanted on the Wings
dropkickshanahans replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
back then I wanted tony amonte and modano on our team. last year I wanted afinogenov, I think he would've fit well with our system. I also want parise and bobby ryan on our team. -
The only shot I remember him taking was in the Dallas game when he took a one-time slapper that sailed and almost took off three heads and was no where close to hitting the net. After that I never saw him take another shot again.
