Well my grandpa's from Texas and he's always said it that way, always thought it was a Texas thing.
-
Are you from Texas?

Let's assume we do get Kovy and resign Lids. Just for fun, how do our powerplay units look? Do we keep #1 the same with Lidstrom and Rafalski at the point, Kovy and Kronwall on #2 with Huds? Or do we see something different, say Kovy and Lidstrom on #1, Kronwall and Rafalski on #2?

What Was Your Favorite Game This Season?
dropkickshanahans replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
too many games I liked... Zetterberg's hatty against Anaheim, our comeback against Vancouver, Game 2 (I think) against Phoenix with all that back and forth scoring in the 2nd (and another hatty by Zetty), Game 7 in Phoenix, Game 4 against the Sharks, Howard's brilliance against the Kings, our 2-1 win against Calgary, Bertuzzi's back to back game winners... I attended 3 games this season: The matchup against Washington at the Joe when we owned Ovechkin and beat them 3-2 I believe. I remember Leino and Williams scoring, can't remember the other one. The highlights of that game for me though was when Osgood made that huge save against Ovechkin, and Filppula laying out Ovechkin with a vicious hip check. The other two games I went to were both terrible, both against Phoenix. One in the regular season when we had a two goal lead and Phoenix scored both in the final minute to force the OT, and then scored again in OT. The other was Game 3 against Phoenix...yeah. Can't wait for next season. -
It's the right hand shot from the point! It's gotta go in anytime soon now!

Isn't he out when Crosby's line is out? Maybe Crosby's just outworking him.

WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Sharks 4
dropkickshanahans replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Game 1, I was very close to throwing my remote I was so pissed at the way the game was. Game 2, I threw my remote and broke it. I have never felt so frustrated, angry, pissed off about a game since Game 7 of last year. I don't know whether it's because of the refs, the way a few select of our players played, Pavelski's stupid face, our the awful commentary. These first two games to me was like being on ecstasy in a nursing home. -
Shanahan would go into the Hall of Fame as a Red Wing

Man I miss Shanny... -
That made no sense. Re-watch the video.

Me too. I feel like I could sprint 10 miles or something.

lol I love that vid. It also reminds me of this Yzerman vid with his ringtone.
-
I see Brett Lebda in there lol. And we thought we had it bad with him

I can't get over that pass by Franzen. Just sick. Followed by a sick backhander that beats Bryz glove side only a couple feet out. Just an overall sick play. I love watching Pavel do the double pumpfist too because he knows he did something wonderful.

That's what I was thinking as well. And with his league leading 76 points for defensemen, he'll probably win it as well since the Norris is all about who has the most points apparently.

I don't see Tootoo on the list, so Cooke is my only option I guess. Hate that f*****. -
They do? This is news to me.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Am I really seeing an Armstrong>Hudler debate? wtf is going on here? -
Um, I'd have to say the NBA is hands down the worst officiated sport. Tim Donaghy raises the red flag with that. Even though he claims he hasn't cheated in fixing games, he did admit that the refs had meetings before games on who to give lee-way to and who to be hard on. That type of officiating is preposterous. People can ***** all they want about NHL refs blowing calls and whatnot, but the games' faster on the ice and there's a lot going on. I think NHL refs do a good job for the most part and I've seen worse calls in other sports (Ed Hochuli's botched whistle on a fumble during the Broncos/Chargers game, changing the outcome of the game). I don't know how they didn't catch that high-sticking, but that stuff happens from time to time. Only way to fix it is to have instant replays for that stuff, but the NHL will be reluctant to do that as it would slow the game down even more and prolong it. So we're just gonna have to live with some of these bad calls, move on to the next game and be more worried about our team playing better than the refs missing 1 or 2 calls.
-
I'm usually not one to complain about a missed call or a botched call or what have you, because I know there's human error (such as Helm being interfered with before the 3rd goal on the PK, I missed it myself before Mickey pointed it out) and they usually do a decent job in keeping it as consistent as possible, but I just don't know what to say about that no call high stick on Lidstrom. I just can't see how you could miss that?

I'm not as mad about those calls (and non) as I am about our performance. It was pure s***. -

Well to be fair Helm was interfered with. Wide open shot but Howard still should've had that. -
Better yet, photoshoop a SC in the middle of the fake tunnel, and change the roadrunners spinning around his head to red wings logos.
