Luongo is lazy and he sucks!

No the officials knew about it, they just let it go because they knew Hal Gill would be irrelevant.

Babcock: Filppula has been Wing's top forward
dropkickshanahans replied to kook_10's topic in General
I agree. This was a problem in the Finals as well and if our best players aren't our best players as Babs has said, then we won't be a very strong team. But anyway, I like the potential between Flip and Leino. They look like our future eurotwins. -

Well I gotta say Bertuzzi has been playing fine defensively so I see no problem keeping him there instead of Leino. Williams though, wow! I thought Babs would move Cleary up. Of course, Williams has been hot lately so we'll see how he does.
-
I hope we win by that much. Kopitar's line is looking amazing, but I think if we can control them from crashing the net and getting those sloppy goals then we should be fine.
-
I see what you did there.
-
But after we selected them they were still gone for a good 4-5 years playing in a different league before being put on our roster. Either way it's irrelevant-- if a player has talent and a great work ethic, he'll be a good/great player.

How the NJ Devils treated Brendan Shanahan...

what's all the butthurt aboot? -
Where the hell were you when they played the Caps? Being at the game, Bert looked really good out there with Hank and Pavs, and if he keeps it up on the backcheck like he has been then that first line is gonna be even harder to score on.
-
I mean I don't mean to come off harsh but you're basically banking our future with 4 rookies on defense and 3 rookies on offense and you don't even have names to fill out the rest of that roster...all to get Kovalchuk on this team. Doesn't really sit too well with me.
-
It's called THE CAP. You're whole argument is based on assumption that it will all work out under the cap, according to your line depth. You don't even know who the hell will be playing LW on 3 and 4, so I'm assuming we sign scrubs for cheap. Under Osgood you have "better backup." On defense we have a player who we don't even know will return due to concussion, so we have 3 rookies playing with 1 very raw rookie on the second pairing. That means after Rafalski leaves we'll have to call another one up. You have another rookie on the top line assuming he's capable. We gotta see a full season from him first. And what if Kovalchuk gets hurt? Where's the depth to pick it up like we have now?
-
Too bad they're far from ready.
-
And even if you think Ericsson will be the next Lidstrom, then cool, we'll have much needed defensive depth keeping all of our D-men here. And I wouldn't bank the future on the thought of our prospects blossoming. They have to prove it to make it here before we go out and solidify them on our lines.

-
OK now that is just completely ridiculous.
-
We're not going to do it. We're a team built on depth and we're not going to throw that away for one player. This isn't 2002 anymore, we have to be smart with our future and resign/replace those depth players as well as keep a strong core D intact. Plus I would be sad to see Kronwall leave
-
They already do their best defensively, they just have to stick to the gameplan every game. Move the puck around effectively and get the puck in deep. Possession is our main defense and the reason we've looked bad was because we didn't stick to the plan and kept playing on our heels at bad points during a game to try and sit on a lead.

Heck if Holland somehow made it work then by all means, but we don't know how serious the tear is. From what I've picked up from it, it has to be the smallest of tears, because Franzen DID play through it the whole game and the staff obviously wants it taken cared of immediately to prevent any further tear which is probably why they say he'll only miss 4 months since it sounds minor compared to most ACL tears. And even if it's longer, Franzen WILL see ice time at some point this season and with only $3 million to play with, I don't see us getting Kovalchuk without giving up another player or more with a contract large enough to cover his and Franzen's once he returns, which I'm willing to bet Holland will not do just to secure a top tier forward for one season. We had our chance last year with a big name forward but that's a different situation. Point is with the cap the way it is, it's gonna be a long time before we ever see a high caliber team like we had last year put together.
-
Sounds like you're ready to hit the panic button. Franzen will be back before the playoffs, and if we somehow trade for Kovalchuk knowing Franzen will return, then we're in deep s*** cap-wise. Kovalchuk is out of the question, we have plenty of depth that have shown they can step up (see last year's playoffs).
-
I don't know much about the human body, but it sounds to me like it must've been the smallest of tears, and the staff thought it should be taken cared off asap before it tears worse. He probably felt the aggravation from it and played through it the rest of the game like any other player would.

Sports Teams with the Most Annoying Fans
dropkickshanahans replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
funny that you say that about the Preds fans Watch the whole thing through, trust me. I lost it. On the topic, the fans that piss me off the most are Michigan State football fans, mainly because all of my friends are fans of that team and they act like complete douchebags over them, so I get the sense that everyone else behaves the same way since they travel to the campus regularly. This past weekend was horrible for me, being a huge Wolverine fan. I don't remember the last time I blew up on my friends, while driving on our way back home... State does have a ton of hot girls though.
