This may be a really dumb thread.... but the results are what intrigue me. Growing up, I used to play a videogame " Megaman Soccer ".... (super nintendo) you played as megaman against his "foes" and when you beat your opponent in playoff mode a member of his team joined yours Lets say.... the NHL was like Megaman Soccer and if/when we beat phoenix we were allowed to add just one of their players.... which player do we add and why? things to keep in mind.... What does this player add to the Red Wings team? What player is going to be at the affect of this addition to the wings? if you add "blank" we have to sit "blank" Where does he fit into the lineup? What are the new red wing lines? OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO TOUCH ON.... PLEASE DO! assume there is no salary cap

anaheims main question mark is goaltending. emery gives them a better situation then with ellis... but boy do they miss hiller who i think is a very underrated tender. nashville has no goaltending question, rinne is a stud and could win this series on his own with that said, the big story in this series will be the sutter weber pair trying to shut down the big line for the ducks which is no easy task. perry is as hot as anyone in the league right now, and has the ability make you pay from just about anywhere in your zone. he's similar to dats in his ability to make something out of nothing and with ryan and a healthy getzlaf this line is big, strong and extremely talented. you would also think that mike fisher will see some time against those boys or if not the selanne line which may really work to the preds advantage. it doesnt get too much better for nashville either since selanne seems like he's growing younger (nick lidstrom syndrome) along with koivu and blake anaheim has a far superior top 6 to nashville and the more time away from weber and sutter the better for anaheims sake. i think the ducks will gladly go with the selanne line against the klein blum pairing or the obrien franson. with home ice, they also can try to throw marchant against fisher whenever they can to ensure that either the selanne or getz line will not be against either fisher or the sutter/weber pair. this series will be a chess match (as all are) but even to a greater extent then others IMO. i think anaheim gets good enough goaltending and matchups they need to get through nashville.... anaheims 1st line can physically dominant, but also keep in mind anaheim has a lot of other big boys that will make this one grueling series.

Anyone know of a good site showing schedules?
DangleDangleBeach replied to Louisville's topic in Other Sports
http://www.leftwinglock.com/ http://www.fantasyhockey911.com/ two solid fantasy sites... not sure if they do the weekly matchups thing though but on espn fantasy they have it somewhere on there where they show games matchups per week (generally in article form though, not for individual players but more for teams) http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyhockey .... used to do that but arent on top of it anymore. used to have full fantasy analysis of players but generally dont keep up with it anymore. hope these help! -
if brygalov and niemi on your waivers? if so i would pick them both right up.... bryz is elite and niemi is a damn good goalie on a team that seems to be heating up.

I remember awhile somebody posted a website on here that broke down players stats... like how many points datsyuk got when he was with zetterberg and without zetterberg. anybody remember this site or know of a site that does this? thanks! GO WINGS!

Players you've always wanted on the Wings
DangleDangleBeach replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
are you kidding? it would be just as sick as the henrik daniel burrows line.... except it would be henrik z pavel burrows a line of zberg datsyuk burrows would be pretty sweet for more then one reason... as would any of these guys. z dats neal/backes/malone/downie/brown/stewart you think anaheim/perry/getslapped would go after z and dats if burrows or any of these other fellas mentioned were the third memeber of the line? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. -
i picked him up in fantasy hockey as depressing as it was.

weber would be sweet too.... but once again is about as logical as burrows coming here.... NEVERTHELESS -

DangleDangleBeach replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
logically speaking... obviously would love a guy like ovie, heatley, kovalchyk or rick nash on pavel's wing but realistically... players we may or may not be able to afford and could be great with a dats z setup IMO are... alex burrows, ryan malone, james neal, mike fisher (hes a center... maybe not with dats and z but nevertheless adds an element the wings lack), david backes, steve downie, chris stewart, dustin brown not only can all these boys play hockey.... they add a physical presence and for the most part would be SWEET with dats and z or on 2nd line even -
lilja is a headhit away from being fed with a spoon for the rest of his life... dont think he will be doing any enforcing fellas and i dont think that is why the ducks signed him. hes a big, proven, stay at home defensemen and most importantly another veteran presence which is important with kids like fowler mickellson and sbisa. sutton (at 35) was the teams oldest blue-liner... followed by visnovski at 34, mara at 31 and brookbank at 30... then you have sbisa (1990) fowler(91) mickellson(87)

Lilja: Red Wings only team to offer contract
DangleDangleBeach replied to Blueliner's topic in General
pretty sure lilja cant be doing any fighting... hes like one punch away from becoming a vegetable -
salei plays mean... brings an element to our third pairing and team for that matter that is misssing. ericcson can learn a lot from his toughness / ability to play with a chip on his shoulder. he hits, is a stay at home dmen who makes a player in front of the net pay the price. i would of rather had andy sutton, but salei sure as hell beats lilja / meech / lebda /janik bolstering our blueline. he can drop the gloves if needed too, not the best part of his game but he can whereas lilja is one punch away from being a vegetable... why have a big body with a glass jaw?

where am i going with this? modano HAS/CAN play the point on and has already been said to be slotted in as kronwalls partner for the 2nd unit. im simply saying why would you want to put modano up front centering bert and franzen and have eaves and kronwall on the point when you can have filpula center and just put modano on the point where he has proven hes capable whereas eaves "might work"? why risk making eaves kronwalls partner "and just give him a try" when players like filpula/hudler who are far more offensively talented would have to be left off the unit if eaves was playing the point. im not saying eaves couldn't do it im just saying why even try when you know modano can? why have bert modano franzen eaves kronwall when it can be... bert filpula franzen modano kronwall the more talent on the ice the better... if you have eaves on the point then you wont have filpula out there and id rather have filpula on the ice over eaves no matter where they are personally.
-
why put eaves on the 2nd pp unit when hudler and cleary apparently aren't on it?

lets not count our chickens before they hatch here fellas. turco is a good goalie, given the upgrade on defense in chicago from dallas he can only benefit. look for him to be more consistent with chicago then he was with dallas. look at his peripheral numbers for playoffs... granted his record is 21-26... he has a 2.17 gaa and a .914 which are quite respectable
-
turco is going to benifit hard from a strong chicago defense... but he still has a losing playoff record and is known for being a choker but at 1.5 per year thats a good deal for the hawks especially with their cap issues.
-
kristin bell is a huge wings fan, i think she is from detroit though too
-
they both can play 3rd and 4th line. durno was a ppg when sent down to the minors last year by the avs and pouliot nice sign for TB. Surprised Pouliot had to take a 2-way deal. Pouliot looked very good in the 2nd half last year for Edmonton after coming back from his injury, scored at a 16-16-32/82 games playing 3rd/4th line minutes with no PP time, which is excellent.
-
i would like to see the lines like this if modano doesnt sign... holmstrom-zetterberg-datsyuk franzen- filpula- hudler bertuzzi abs cleary draper helm eaves/miller then maybe we could sign andy sutton for that last d spot liddy raff stuart kronwall sutton ericcson / kindl

76 goals by a rookie by teemu.... ovechkin after what 5 years in the league has hit 65 as his best, what are the chances a rookie can step in and get 11 more goals in his rookie season than ovie has in his career year?
