That depends on the league's definition of 'Automatic'
Viking_Erection replied to PotbellyJoe's topic in General
The rules are the rules. It doesn't matter if they are 'superstars' or 'goons', the rule is in place for any and all players who try to instigate in the dying 5 minutes of the game. Malkin was handed the free pass to favor Crosby and the Penguins. -
Make a stupid thread. Get called out on it. Then you wish to resort to immature personal attacks? The Wings went 2 games with 1 goal against for more significant reasons than one rookie kid on the 3rd pairing. c'mon!

I don't like Sid because he's a diver and a whiner who expects special treatment (and gets it). He's supposed to be one of the 'faces' of the NHL and he's abusing it. I didn't like Forsberg for the same reasons... But Crosby has that attitude like he 'deserves' special treatment that really rubs me wrong. I'd prefer that Crosby be removed from the face of NHL because he's an embarrassment to the sport. Ovechkin is a world class player with personality that represents the NHL the way it should be represented. Crosby is just a ******.

I was thinking the same thing. They think they are so far ahead in the standing, yet we're only 2 points behind them despite all of our injuries and grueling road trip against the hottest teams in the league right now. Joe sells 19k+ tickets. How many are they selling?

The title of this thread is good. The opening post is dumb. Matt, please require an IQ test before anyone is allowed to create a thread. thx

Chicago Blackhawk fans are jealous. From their message board: Link: http://fans.blackhawks.nhl.com/topic/26802...attendance.html I knew the "HockeyTown" attention from NHL.com would spark pissed off and jealous people around the United States.

Osgood's not here to be gods gift to goalies. He's here to help this team get to the finals, which he has consistently done for us. I do remember posters on here ranting for trading Ozzie, which is absolutely idiotic and unintelligent to say. Osgood is the best playoff goalie in the league and has all the rings to prove it. There are a lot of great teams this year that won't go deep into the playoffs because they lack the goalie who can handle the pressure and excel when the team needs them to the most cough*Chicago*cough*Sharks*cough. I might be the minority here, but I'm sticking with Ozzie through thick-and-thin because it's the playoffs this team is playing for, not the presidents trophy. As for Howard, I remember about 4 or 5 years ago everyone on LGW's was yelling and crying bloody murder for Holland to trade Datsyuk. Now I am reading poster crying about Howard and Leino. I guess LGW'ers expect all rookie Red Wings players to come into the NHL as an all-star Roy and Yzerman type-caliber. Doesn't happen in the real world folks.

Some supposed insider from the CIA & FBI said that you are known to often make up stories for attention on message forums.

Great 60 minute effort. Ozzie was the best player on the ice. The 2nd line is lacking. Seems they are always down near Ozzie's end trying to defend and clear the puck instead of pressuring and wearing down the opposition's D. Williams isn't a good fit on the 2nd line, but since the Wings have so many injuries... Helm - Draper - Eaves = Wow! This line should be called the "2nd" line just because they have so much chemistry and work hard. I thank Helm for that line, he's the glue. Homer / Dats / Bert look good. Bert sometimes makes dangerous passes that fail... He should keep it simple and look for the smart play. Defense was K.I.S.S = keep It Simple Stupid. The perfect "D" to help Ozzie get his shutout. That's how they should play every game... simple. I don't think Janik had very many minutes, but he played a simple game. He didn't hold the puck long, he seemed to be quick to make the smart pass and let someone else figure out what to do with it. He played a very simple game to help relieve the minutes for the other guys. He was a good plug. Leino was invisible for most of the game. Without Flip, he's pretty much non-existent. Maybe babs should try him with Dats and/or Zetterberg to help get him going. Leino's confidence seem down right now. He needs a spark. All in all, great win.

No reason to be a ****** to people. Are you mad?

I didn't read the article but I think it's insane for anyone to suggest Penguins were the dominant team last year in the SCF. Anybody with a half of brain cell knows that it took a full 7 games, a questionable goal, too many men and a non-suspension on Malkin for the Penguins barley beat a depleted, injured and exhausted Red Wings team. I hate the *what ifs* as anybody else, but for the sake of Puck Daddies claim, had the Wings been healthy, Penguins wouldn't made it past 5 or 6 games; Wings would have DOMINATED them. That said, injuries are part of the game and Penguins took full advantage to become the "champions". In my mind, they're not really a championship team, they're just lucky the Red Wings weren't healthy. I'm proud of my Red Wings, they battled HARD. Had the injuries been on the other team, Wings would have swept. Penguins struggled to beat the Wings with all its injuries.

The entire team will need to keep it simple and play safe - The entire team needs to cover defense and be ready. Ozzie will need to play like the world class goalie that he is.

Dang, I didn't realize Janik was 29. I thought he was a kid... I take it he's a plug, not the future?

Hawks and Wings Cap Situations heading into Summer '10
Viking_Erection replied to mmamolo's topic in General
What makes this funny is the fact that the Chicago fans thought they hit the jackpot by getting Kopecky. I was reading their message forums after they signed Kops, and they had threads pouring out how great Kops will be in the Hawks uniform and that he's an extremely underrated power-forward-hard-nose-to-the-net player. I couldn't help but laugh at all the ridiculous comments being posted on their forum. All this while Red Wings fans (LGW and HFboards) were ecstatic to see Kopecky gone. Kopecky is way overpaid and leave it to Chicago to overpay their players. He's their perfect fit.... overpaid and overrated. Lol, they are stuck with his contract like they are with Huet and Campbell. -
Where is the "who's going to stop the Colorado Avalanche" thread? They're winning in the West which is a much stronger conference than the east. The Avs are playing out of their minds this season (so far). Avs are more of threat than the Penguins, they've beat the Wings twice. Wings had already beat the Penguins (with the kids in the preseason none-the-less).

Watch the Red Wings first 2 games of the season and then watch the Red Wings last two game they played, you'll see two different teams. The first two games was horrible passing, offsides, faceoffs, bounces, defense, suspect goaltending, lazy, tired, rusty, and no chemistry. The lack of chemistry early on, I think, was Wings' biggest issue along with lazy-lack of interest play. Now they look much more solid with better passing, better communication, faceoffs and overall team hunger. By the end of November, I expect the Wings to be unstoppable even with their injuries. I have no worries. This is a Class A team with the best ownership, management and coach in the entire NHL. If they get healthy; stay healthy; they will win the cup.

Wait, did Crosby's tampon fall out during the fight?

Lol @ the LGW grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure police. responsiblity = responsibility independant = independent seperate = separate Thanks for the correction Guess we both phail (or is it fail?). Keep up the good work. Edited for: Grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.

I'm extremely flattered and I don't flatter easily.

Burn. Well played, sir.
-
Haha, they look like a couple of homos trying to rip each other's clothes off. EDIT: Does it look like Crosby is taking it in the rear from the ref behind him? Lol.
-
Yeah, it's kind of an unorthodox situation, but he is helping the Griffins over there. And I'm sure his experience and leadership is rubbing off on some of the kids (hopefully).

Blah blah blah, you sound like one of those insecure Penguins' fans. "We'z gotsa da bestestestest playerz in the wholezzz-widezzz-worldzzz and skatedezest thru'z the finalzzzz for the Sternly bowl cup thingy whatch-ma-callit thing". WHOOP! Penguins won against a depleted and injured Red Wings team. Had the Wings been one man's finger-nail healthier, they'd repeat back-to-back against the healthy Penguins. But since injuries, favored schedule, non-suspensions and 6 on 4 (too many men) is part of the game, Crosby and the Penguins did steal the cup. My regret is Wings didn't get any of those kinds of breaks. But keeping an objective view, Crosby isn't nearly as good as Ovi the great. Sorry I'm not as impressed with Crosby... sure he's a good player in his own right, just not the best. Ovechkin will hoist the cup several times in his career and Penguins will fade away like they are known to do...
