Language never stopped Jagr from being a captain and he's still not very good at English. There are a number of different captain types. I was told once that a good coach tries to fill 3 different areas with his captains and assistants. 1. Skill 2. Brains 3. Emotions. Ovechkin would fulfill the skill and emotion areas. Hopefully the other guys have the brains.

This article is interesting. I guess High School hockey teams in Boston wanted to use the Winter Classic Surface to play games and give the kids a cool opportunity. Well, the Red Sox decided that it would cost them $10,000 - $30,000 for a couple hours. Yikes! Revised Link

Ok, so if the business is collecting the money that is being charged for the autographs (prices outrageous), how much are they paying the players to show up and sign? Obviously the players are generating a ton of revenue for the business, and I doubt players would be interested in just doing that for free...

I think if you were to compare Canada and Russia in this regard, you'd have to give Canada the advantage. In fact, team chemistry may be what allows Canada to beat a team like Russia, who obviously has a ton of star power, but a lot of "selfish" players.

They seem a bit older than some of the other teams too. That might be a factor in the medal round.

I'm going to take the conservative route and say, no. As much as I'd like to have him, that 7.5 mil of Lidstrom's would be a great place to start with rebuilding (filling in the gaps). As convenient as it would be to blow that money on a superstar player, it wouldn't solve many problems, like goaltending, and another defenseman. -
I'm a little surprised that Malkin's signature goal on Brodeur didn't make the list.

Hahahha, I think i'm the only one in the world that likes these jerseys. I also like the Bruins one. I know they aren't classy at all, but they are interesting and fun. They looked ridiculous on the ice though. Hard to take someone seriously with a big cartoon duck jersey.

Yeah. Babcock has no business winning coach of the year. You also have to take into consideration the Eastern Conference. I don't know who you'd give it to there, but just saying, Babcock hasn't done anything yet to stand out. Maybe if he can win the cup without Zetterberg and Datsyuk...

Ok, the winter classic is great because there is nothing like it and its something that can be looked forward to by all hockey fans. But once you start overdoing it, its not as special so lets just not do that. thanks -
