He's just pissed because he knows this is their last season with stamkos and if by some miracle Detroit plays lights out and wins the series they will have seen the last of stammy. Then they will go back to being irrelevant as always. But on a side note, during the regular season, it's half wings fans at the wings games. But the playoff games I just attended was maybe a few hundred wings fans and the other 49,000 lightning fans. People in Tampa def like their bolts. They're the only bright spot they have with the bucs and rays stinking the place up.

Wings may win this game but the D is not made for playoff hockey. They're slow, don't possess the puck well and can't clear the zone efficiently, much less make a good first pass to get the offense moving. Mrazek may steal one but he can't play out of his mind night in and out. He's human, not a robot. Defense wins championships. Idk who will be available after this year but if a trade involving Ericsson doesn't happen along with nyquist, this will happen again next season. I'm trying to imagine what this team would be like if Franzens head weren't broken and Miller were playing...

Was at the game. Thanks for advice all those who said I should go. Total garbage. Game 1 was way better. Goose and Tator salad are horrible. They need to go away. Should have kept Flip instead of those guys at this point. Still not sure who the dbag was that went off the ice and let the puck go right down and then they scored, but that was incredible. It's like there are no set plays. The wings play is just get the puck in the offensive zone and shoot if you can. I saw no chemistry between anyone, because again, I was sitting on the wings offensive end of the ice for the first and third period. The officiating was equally as horrid. How does datsyuk get the penalty? And they even called interference against the guy on Ericson, which was just a guy finishing his check. Then I can't believe they didn't call a penalty on dekeyser for the hit to the head on palat. I think they just randomly blow the whistle. Howard is awful, if I'm playing against him my game plan is shoot high on him. He leaves the net wide open up top and moves too slow. Then he overplays that one skater going wide. At no point did that guy look like he was going to shoot. Wtf. If holland doesn't get a top flight sniper and dmen this off season and keeps those waste of winged wheel uniforms goose and Tator, he needs to go. Look at the Blackhawks? They just keep making the right moves. You're not going to draft dmen and wingers like we need. You have to pay them. And you have to admit when you've overpaid mediocrity, Ericson and abdelkader. Kronwall, Z and Datsyuk are all done. They've given all the can. Babcock was right, the future is not bright there and the present is past. There's no game plan and he knew it. That's why he left. And that's why he will get a shot to sign stamkos this offseason. Tampa needed to win last year, that was their last shot, stamkos wants $11-$12 mil a year. Toronto is the only team that can do that. Wings need to trade some guys and get some quality pieces or this will be rinse and repeat for years.

Was at the game. First off, the ice was pretty crappy. Guys losing their edge all over the place. Second, if stamkos were in there, this would have been bad. The puck handling was really poor and the passes were not crisp exiting the zone (Rafalski anyone?). Third, the first goal was def on howie, second was on helm facing away from the puck handler, third was just all skill, credit where it's due. The non goal was a combo of poor D and poor goaltending. Jimmy can't stop those kind of shots on net. He's just guessing most of the time. Fourth, Z and pavel are just way slow. There's no getting past that. Can't tell you how many times it hurt watching Pav just lose the puck trying to make something happen. I was sitting on the end where the wings played offense twice facing the benches. Fifth, the wings had some really high quality chances, the puck just bounced out of reach or couldn't get a decent second chance on juicy rebounds. Sixth, Kyle Quincey impressed me jumping through the zone with the puck. I think some times the better play is just skate with the puck when the defense is giving you room. Tampa did that plenty at the blue line. The dmen could have just kept carrying it on their stick when they expect you to pass. Kyle caught them by surprise a few times. Seventh, the power play didn't score, but they came really close. Eighth, I swear on everything that's holy giving Ericsson that contract was way worse than keeping franzen over Hossa. That guy is like a non hitting non fighting non puck handling smaller Darren hatcher. He's just a big slow body. I would rather have Oulett or Sproul in there. Ninth, was glad to see the guys stick up for Larkin when Coburn tried to rough him up. I wanted Justin to break his face for that chicken s***. Tenth, if they watch the tape and shake up the lines and figure out how to deal with that s*** ice, there's no reason they can't go back to the Joe tied. So tired of watching them lose in Tampa, 4 straight in the regular season, yet they dominate them in the D. I even changed jerseys tonight. Ugh!!!!!!!

Cannot overstate how significant a win that is. The team they're chasing and beat them in regulation, and the teams they're trying to stay ahead of losing in regulation. Didn't care for the way they played that situation at the end. It's 5 on 5. Get the en. Can say we will need a little more grit for a playoff run. Just don't see our D as it stands making a case for a long run. Smith and Ericsson are just not athletic enough for me.

Pay just didn't have any training in the offseason as far as conditioning. He's still off and I don't see him getting it back. There's not enough off time to make up for it.
