I was just about to post that. Seems like an odd thing to say right? I mean, is that out of shame? Or just despises nostalgia? Or is it regret? Or that his team got their asses handed to them and the wings don't have their best team iced with pav and their D is pretty thin. Also, haven't heard anyone mention green. Only watched some of the game. How was he on D?

Honestly, Babs has looked like he didn't want to be there the previous two seasons. You can tell he wasn't too high on the GM decisions being made and he just seemed like he was going through the motions. The game has also changed quite a bit in the last few seasons and Babs hasn't kept up. I can see him being let go from the leafs half way through his contract. I mean, getting paid double what all other coaches are getting paid because you had success for 10 years on a team that quite frankly, if they hadn't made the playoffs would have been a pretty rough season considering the players they ice every night. Babs strategies are already no longer relevant in this ever changing league and I would be quietly amused at his demise in Toronto.

Looks like Kenny is trying to give his new coach the best chance. I think he and babs had been in agreement to just make the playoffs and let babs go when his contract expired. He was good at first but Kenny is insistent on the youth movement and a fresh coach with that too. Definitely seems like too much of a coincidence.

Anyone with a brain should know they aren't playing hockey into chelios and selanne years. So probably, maybe, go to school and figure out what you will do when you are replaced by someone younger and cheaper and enjoy the ride while it lasts. An athletes window is narrow depending on the sport and your skill at said sport. When you're done and shrugging your shoulders on what to do next, you have already failed. It's not like he wasn't already doing something else anyway. Walking around with his purses like the punk he is like when someone actually tried to fight him and he ducked and covered.

I still can't believe they let that jackass punch Z in the head. You can tell it really affected him. Again this year injuries derail this team. This time it was to the goalie, the captain and abdelkader, who was playing awesome until that hand injury. Franzen was even playing good hockey, and our trade assets both not in this game. I'm sure datsyuk was broken too, his knees are about done like yzerman and chelios.

Babcock is done. This team needs a shake up. He doesn't seem to have it anymore. Wings will promote the Griffins coach to get these guys to play as well for him as they did for the Griffins. Time to trade some peeps and get some D. This offseason, if nothing big happens, nothing big will happen and they will continue with barely making the playoffs and losing handily.

Anyone see john buccigross post a video say goose is interfering with stamkos? Very funny. It wouldn't have happened if stamkos doesn't try to use goose to sling shot past. Think it may be time for him to retire from covering sports.

In all serious Ericsson is a total waste of a D pairing. I was at the last regular season game the wings played in Tampa and the first goal hey scored was the tandem of E and Howard. E lets the winger walk right into the zone and then has to play off him because he's too slow, lets him take a decent shot, then Howard angles the rebound right to the late man. Absolutely pathetic. I know it is because I play D in beer league stuff and he looks like I feel skating in his own zone and turning around and not handling the puck, and he's on a top pair in Detroit in the nhl.

I'm just glad we aren't playing the goon bros in Boston. All those guys know to do is try to hurt people and dive. I like our chances against a team mostly playing a clean game. Also, where's the playoff wallpaper?

Depending on how this goes, jimmy may be traded. We need some D and righty. Should get some good return for that. If mrazek can be more consistent, there's no reason to keep Howard. He doesn't bring the same things to the crease as petr. I've been to the last two regular series games in Tampa. Wings need to play like they did tonight when they get back. Shooting right in bishops gut won't get any goals.

That would make more sense. I can't see someone responding to something like that, much less a response like that. I can only hope that's the case. Things are looking pretty dim right now from a fan perspective. Let's hope the "kids" figured out how to play Stanley cup caliber hockey over the offseason.

If that is true they better hope that doesn't get widely published. I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to oblige them if that's how they really feel. The franchise has certainly taken an ugly turn since 1 July, at least publicly. I can't say I'm a very proud fan at this point. That Quincey signing has me more pissed than the cleary signing. We all know cleary won't make the team. My only hope is Babcock doesn't get extended and a change is made as is obviously needed. It will be interesting to hear Mickey Redmonds comments during the season. He doesn't exactly pull punches when giving his opinions.
