That's wrong. I'm a Canadian born fan, living currently in the U.S. with my wife. But I'm rooting for Canada, and she's rooting for the U.S obviously. I don't have a problem rooting for players I hate normally, because when they're wearing the Maple Leaf, they represent the country, not the NHL team they play for. I hate Pronger for his history against the Wings, but love him for his play in the Olympics/

Oh, man, Anaheim is over. Giggy is a way better goalie then the kid they have, and they'll be kicking themselves when they realize it. I knew Giggy would be on his way to Toronto, he loves Burke. I'm still a bit surprised by the Phaneuf trade though. Toronto is only going up from here.

The Wings go drinking when they're in Vancouver as well, but being older and more mature, I'm sure that this stuff never happens.

I would like to see if Ozzy could get it going with a few games of play in a row. He gets dropped in only occasionally, which COULD explain him being rusty. If he plays 3 games in a row and does not improve, then we definitely have a problem. Hopefully he gets a 'mental vacation' during the Olympic break and comes back with a vengeance. I'm no Ozzy lover, but I don't like seeing anyone on this team look as bad as he has been. I know Howard has a future here, and I was one of the people saying give him time at the beginning of the season, but Osgood is our past, and hopefully, still our present.

I don't see Washington getting him while keeping Greene/Semin. Chicago will be parting with Kane for Kovy. I see Calgary definitely being a chance, but Boston seems more likely to me.

I'd love to see Janik get a chance to play 6/7 D next year

There is no one in the league who comes close to Lidstrom. He's the closest thing to the perfect defenseman to ever play hockey. Replacing him is IMPOSSIBLE, we just have to find someone who can play great defense.

Definately want to keep Miller, Eaves and Bert. If we lose Leino... we don't really lose much, from the way he's looking. Mind you, if we lose him, and he becomes good, people here will be like they are with Quincy. We should have kept him, blah, blah, blah, even though now, they hate him.

Luongo has won a cup? Where? When? Osgood is the playoff goalie. He's not much for regular season play for some reason, but I would not feel comfortable in the playoffs with two rookie goalies. Plus, Larsson is in no way ready to play in the NHL. Hell, why not bring Pearce and Tatar up while we're at it. They're good in the minors, they HAVE to be good in the NHL right? Look at Steve Ott, the guy was great when he was in the OHL... not so much in the NHL Comparing Osgood to Brodeur is like comparing Gretzky to Kopecky.

Why do you constantly suggest we trade away half the players on our team? Holmstrom is going nowhere. If we traded him, a career Red Wing, we'd be no better than the oilers... What kind of stupid team would trade away Gretzy anyway?

Well, he's not much of a stick handler, so it wasn't very smart of him to do that to begin with.

How about the goalie can go into the trapezoid safely... but anywhere ELSE he's fair game? Then the trapezoid can stay there and have a reason that wasn't made by people who's IQ is less then their age.

You do realize that that line NEVER does well anymore? It depletes our depth by having our two best players on the top line, thus giving the opposing teams defense the easiest time in the world to stop them. I mean, that's the top line of our PP isn't it. They've REALLY been scoring a lot on the PP haven't they? No. Dats and Z should not play together anymore at all.

His first season here wasn't good. But Osgood has done the same, it happens sometimes. He was better his second season, we just didn't even try against the Flames in the second round.

Total horses***. He had every right to come out with it. I'm sick of Bettman's little regime where his refs have the right to decide the outcome of a hockey game, and when a player says something, THEY get in trouble. It's sickening.

To be honest, it's not just this season. This is how the Wings ALWAYS are. They put next to no effort in against weak teams, and play well against strong teams. The difference is, in the past, next to no effort still was enough.
