The reason for that was that if we had won the cup, he would have his name on the cup. If he had not played at all, he would not have been on the cup.

It's not so much a horseshoe... it's that he seems to give the team more energy. The team plays a lot better with him in the lineup, for whatever reason, be it confidence, or something else. Are we at home for the Canes game? And I wonder if Legace will play?

That was by far the worst call, but it was against Dallas, not Anaheim Didn't Dats and Lids get suspended for not playing last year? I don't believe that so much. I do believe that they may want to market other teams (thus helping other teams WIN) to make profit. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see lots of LUCKY things happen for Phoenix come the playoffs.

Yes. I've never been a fan of goons, and I liked everything Mac was. Maybe not the best fighter, but my favourite none the less. And he's from my hometown. Gotta love the hometown boys

Janik was signed to play in GR. If he cannot go back to GR now... there's no point in losing him. He's played extremely well, and since Lebda is horrible, get rid of him. -
I'd love to see him stay. And I really don't believe that Ken Holland is dumb enough to get rid of him. Even though he was signed mainly as a mentor for the GR kids, he's not able to go back there without risking being grabbed off of waivers. We KNOW that Lebda WILL NOT be here by next season, so the smart thing here is to waive Lebda. There's less risk that anyone will take him, as he is absolutely terrible, offensively and defensively.

And I disagree. A piece of tissue paper taped to the net would win more games than him. With all the excess goalies looking for homes, they keep the guy who can't get it done. He has potential, but Montreal is ruining him. I guarantee he'll be good when he demands a trade and goes elsewhere.

Vezina is unlikely, because he is a rookie. Calder is possible though, if they decide to consider him a rookie.

I agree. They have a good team, but the other Pacific teams are TOO good this year. Central is also good, but Nashville/St. Louis/Columbus always seem to skip around on who's having a good year and who's not. The Atlantic is ok, but the Pacific is WAY better. Pacific doesn't have the Islanders...

But we don't know if the fan WAS a rich immigrant. The simple fact is, a ref should have seen it, called security and had the guy kicked out, or had the laser taken away.

Rookie backup above him, where Howard has been the starting goalie on Detroit. Comparison fails. Rask is fine, but he's played quite a few less games then Howard. I mean, if some goalie from the minors comes up, gets a shutout and leaves... he's going to have the best possible stats. So it's not fair to compare Howard's starting job to Rask's backup.

Where was the goalie interference calls? I've had temporary blindness from those red laser lights when someone got it in my eye. If someone had shot it into Kipper's eye, and he allowed a goal... that's hardly fair.

As long as we manage to keep both, I see them stepping up the the #1 pair when Lids and Raffi retire.

I thought Brodeur won in 03? Giguere did bring them to the Finals, and he helped them win in 07 though. Anyways, I love the irony this website brings. October, we were ready to dump Howard before he played a game. Now, we want him to start in the playoffs. I said it in October, I'll say it now. We should wait and see. Players get hot, then cold. Howard is known to be inconsistent, and although he is better now, that inconsistency still potentially could surface again.

If you mean he's been better... no. If you mean he's been worse, debatably. The statement Halak's manager made a while back was true, 10W, 50L, how does a goalie with that record (and BAD STATS) have a job?

In another thread, one poster was claiming that Howard is not good enough to handle the top teams. He has won against both Colorado and LA recently, both very good teams, playing well. San Jose is a tough game though, for not just him, but the entire team. -
Remember how Huet was good in Montreal, and he was essentially acting as the mentor for their young rookie, Price? And how Price played great when Huet was there? They traded Huet.... Price has been s*** since. Let's not get rid of Howard's mentor. I can tell you, working with Osgood is giving him confidence, and making him a better goalie.

Yea, I realize that. The Pens have totally modeled their team after the early 90's Red Wings. Young, Canadian Superstar Captain, The young, underappreciated russian, who is ARGUABLY more talented then said Superstar... there are more... just can't think.
