I try to never throw personal insults, but this is quite possibly one of the STUPIDEST things I've EVER read! Professionals are still people. Try being married to a woman who HATES where you live, HATES the team you play and is a CONSTANT ***** for days, weeks, YEARS on end. Being a married man, I know, it's ******* horrible. When you know that you're doing what you love, and the woman you love is criticizing every aspect of the place you play... you start to hate everything. If this really is the problem... it could become a very, VERY serious issue for us, especially with the KHL just picking up players from the NHL, even players who already have contracts in the NHL.... Pronger left Edmonton for exactly the same reason, btw. His wife hated the cold so he went to Anaheim... (wonder how she likes Philly...)

Wow, I didn't realize that Lundqvist was picked so late. But I like that we have two players (and if we went farther back, we'd have even more with Dats and Z)

The Sharks probably have the most natural goal scorers, with the Blackhawks behind them.

That's EXACTLY what my point was. People were arguing that it CAN'T be exhaustion because the Penguins aren't having the same problems, when they are. They're a younger team, and have been through almost as many long seasons as us (we have one more year going to WCF when they missed the playoffs?)

To the people saying Jimmy Howard may or may not be a Vezina Candidate in his future. I'd love to introduce you to a goalie named Tim Thomas. The guy was a 'career backup', a below average goalie who some teams didn't even want because he was considered so poor. Who won the Vezina last year?

I think it's ironic. Our top 3 players are here, and NONE of our crappy players go down. Why couldn't it have been Lebda instead of Cleary?

Neidermeyer WILL be Canada's captain. There's no question about that. I don't really know about the rest, but I'd guess that Lidstrom would beat Alfredsson.

Um... have you watched Pittsburgh's injuries? Pretty sure their ENTIRE starting defense core was out at one point. Crosby's been hurt twice, Malkin's been out. Pretty sure they've been as beat up as us.

Crosby has proven several times he sucks without good linemates. Ovechkin is a pure goal scorer, where both Crosby and Dats are playmakers. Dats isn't a pure goalscorer, so his goals are usually nice set ups. I'm not arguing that he's not playing poorly though. I think he needs a couple games off...

Just as a matter of respect. I don't mean hang it to the rafters, just simply not allow any other player to wear 25 for a while.

And when Z and Dats were rookies, we were saying there's no Stevie or Shanny or Feds in that group. Before you count them out, give them the chance to grow into players they can be. Ericssson could be fantastic. He's got all the signs of Chara, but able to score. If he is coached properly, he COULD be a stud on our back end and eventually a Norris candidate.

I could see him being a Vezina candidate, especially if he gains consistency. When he's on his game... he looks better than a LOT of goalies. Hell, in one of the Canucks games, he was stopping the shots that Luongo was letting in...

I'd love for them to retire his jersey, even if it is unofficially.

How about the player with the most points and PIMs put together? Only problem with that is that you can't reward penalties.

I can't believe how bad the reffing in the NHL is getting.

Seattle/Portland is by far the best market. It opens up a better West rivalry (Vancouver/Seattle) and it also allows a West Coast team to be in the east. Detroit being in the west is kinda stupid. I had a way to move things around that there were 15 teams in each division, with Chicago being the farthest west in the eastern conference. There were no teams in Florida, Atlanta, Nashville and Phoenix were switched with Seattle, Winnipeg, Quebec City, and a couple others (I'd have to go looking for it.) It worked out well, with no team having to travel very far in their own division.

Where the hell is Osgood? Everyone noticed you missed Z, but where's Ozzie? I'd rather Ozzie than Biron who is HORRID in playoffs. I mean, had he played well, Philly could have beat Pittsburgh...

Just wait until Russia scores a goal to tie the Americans and they call it no goal because of intent to whistle. I'm gonna miss the Russians in the NHL... (exagerating, but I have a BAD feeling)

Hamilton is the worst possible idea ever conceived. While I think Bettman is just being a prick, Hamilton is a horrible choice. I mean, how many of you would want a new team in Windsor, Ontario? Directly across the border, essentially taking away a HUGE number of Red Wing fans. Hamilton getting a team means that the Sabres will be dead.

Lidstrom retiring is a scary thing for our team. The dynasty that began with Yzerman gave us Lidstrom who is our strongest player. When he is gone, our defense is only average.

I always wonder why I hear that. Aside from Osgood, what other goalie have we gotten back from St. Louis? They always pick up our leftovers, I'll agree there. Osgood, Legace, now Conklin, but only Ozzy came back to us. Besides, with Ozzy, Howard, Larrson and McCallum in our system, we don't really need another goalie for some time.
