I think Schneider is gonna have a hard time sooner or later. He can't be that good. And even if he is, then Vancouver's going to ship him somewhere so they can keep their billion dollar man.

You're right, the Kings look very promising. I'm not convinced that they're the real deal YET, but we'll see.

Hey, let me point out that I'm just hoping that the thread reversal rule of this board works for Huds. If he scores even one goal tonight, I'd be happy. I'm pretty impressed that out of our whole team, only one player isn't showing up much.

I know of Rogers, I'm also in Canada, just by Windsor, and I lived in Vancouver before the Olympics. I just never knew they changed the name. And as much as I know that this is true, a guy can dream right? Those games with Colorado were between two very evenly matched teams, and I think Vancouver is the only team that has that kind of skill in the West. Perhaps Chicago, but they lost so much that I don't think they're even close. But Vancouver is very similar to Detroit, so I'd love to see a good hatred between the two, something that riles up the players and the fans.

Draper is also an old man. Hudler is a young guy.

I think, by far this is THE matchup of the West. There don't really seem to be any other teams that can rival Detroit and Vancouver right now. I'm hoping for a big bench brawl, so that Wings/Nucks becomes the new Wings/Avs. I really can see the potential for a HUGE rivalry between these two teams. Also, I never noticed until now that the Vancouver arena's name was changed. Used to be GM Place

I trust that Babs knows what a player can and cannot do. Hudler isn't good enough to be a top 6 player here, but he doesn't have the work ethic to play on the bottom 6. With how well Modano/Abs/Cleary are playing together (they essentially won our last two games for us) Hudler is looking more and more like the odd man out. Miller is never going to have the offensive capacity of Hudler, but he's a 4th liner, and he's excellent on the PK. Eaves has a ton of potential, is fast, and very skilled defensively, and Helm is the fastest, most defensively responsible player on the team. I had hoped that Hudler would be better now, but he's never had the heart or drive to really become a better player. At least he's not a whiner, or he'd be just like Leino out there.

We have found a place for huds. It's the bench.

It's funny cause a week ago, everyone was blaming the third line's struggles on Mo, but Huds sits, and suddenly, the third line wins us 2 games in a row. Huds is the weak link.

Tough call. He definitely hit the head with his elbow on the follow through. Because Perron was looking backwards, Thornton hit him from the side, and it was absolutely blind-sided. The other thing I see is that Thornton is a HUGE guy. It looks more like an elbow because he's so big. Not sure what I'd say. I'd say, at the speed of the game, it definitely looks like a head shot, and since Big Joe is known for being a dirty player when he's losing, I can see why it was a penalty. I'm not sure if it's suspension worthy or not though.

I remember Yzerman did something like this back in the 90's. I can't remember the exact case or anything, but it truly touched my heart. The Red Wings truly do care for their fans, and every time they reach out to someone, they become that much more to everyone. They're not just a good hockey team on the ice, they are good human beings. I wish your brother and your whole family the best.

I have a feeling Babs will keep rotating who sits amongst the bottom 6. With 7 players and 6 spots, we'll have more competition among those players. Especially if whoever plays WORST gets benched the next game. Hudler is most likely to be benched tomorrow, but it's possible that it could be Miller as well.

I actually think out of all the Southern teams, Nashville is the one I respect the most. Unlike Phoenix, Carolina, the Florida teams, and especially Atlanta, they have a consistently decent team, and have made the playoffs regularly. They also have some fans, and I think that team could grow with time.

If you look on the site, the Preds fans are pissed too, because the paper makes preds fans looks like stupid rednecks who don't know anything about hockey.

I think we need to keep Eaves for life. He's the perfect fit on this team, and has huge offensive potential that still hasn't been tapped into yet.

I watched the whole game, so I'm not quite a 'box score fan'. The truth is, he was godawful in that first period, but he definitely improved throughout the game. The problem I've noticed with Ozzie is that he tends to be very, very bad in the first, which usually has us playing catch up for the rest of the game. I'd like to see Ozzie get better, because I AM a fan of his. I've almost always defended him, but the third goal especially was just horrible. I'd like to see Ozzie play a bit more. He's not the goalie he used to be though, and I think it's getting close to the time where he might need to retire. As much as I have loved Ozzie, the time comes for all players, and I think his is getting near. That's why I suggested that AFTER this season, we look at a new backup, and Auld and Conklin would be my first choices. I don't know what's going on contract wise with Larsson, but I'd prefer to have a more experienced tender in goal. Next year will only be Jimmy's third in the league, and as good as he has looked so far, he is still young. If Osgood retires, which is the only way he'll be leaving the Red Wings, we should find a goalie who can fill Ozzie's role, to help out Jimmy.

We should see if we can get Alex Auld, or bring back Conklin for next season. Both are excellent back up goalies, and, unless Ozzie miraculously becomes good again, we're going to need a new back up tender.

Sadly, there's not much the league is going to do for the Panthers...

It's really hard to call this hit, even in slow motion. I agree with the refs because at full speed, it definitely looks dirty. I would say it was unintentional, but it does LOOK like after hitting the shoulder, he hit the head on the follow through.
