Ready comprehension is good to learn. Re-read my first post then reply, but think first.
-
Rafalski has been terrible this series, Schneider has not.
-
True, but calling a penalty simply because the other team has had more even if the "penalty" was as piddly as some that were called is making the officiating look pathetic. Call a penalty because a penalty happened, not because the other team has more.

Have you been drinking? Fil has nearly as many points (could potentially get the same number) as last year, in a third less games. He has 9 points in the last 8 games, and something like 26 points since he's been back from his injury (~33 games or so). I don't know where the disappointment is in those numbers... On topic, Our lines most likely will stay similar to what they are now. Williams will probably be traded, hopefully we keep Eaves and Miller. As much as I hate to say it, I'd like to see Hudler come back :-/

So I missed the first 2 periods, Can someone tell me the starting lineups?

Actually, using incorrect grammar and punctuation is just as disrespectful to other posters as anything else in this thread. Also, like was previously stated, it only takes a few minutes to find out about our prospects, probably little more time than it took you to reply to this thread. Funny, because up until this post of yours, you were one of the worst offenders on the boards. I do appreciate the the effort to use correct grammar and spelling in that response, however (being sincere here). In response to the actual thread, hopefully he clears, we really need him in on the Grand Rapids lineup.
-
You may not be here to waste your time, but your atrocious grammar is a waste of our time to try to decipher. Not to mention, is it really that hard to type the language correctly? I guarantee using correct grammar will not increase the time it takes for you to post here, unless you're really just that ignorant and don't know how to use correct grammar in the first place.

Ha!

I don't think he's been a 6 mil player since he came here. Yeah, he was good the first couple years we got him, but never in my opinion worth what he's being paid.
-
Flip also just came back from an injury, being gone for much longer, and has been stellar since his return. I barely even notice when Cleary is actually on the ice anymore. Side note talking about contract value and responding to the above comment: Who's stupid idea was it to offer Rafalski a 6 mil NTC contract? He's on a line with Lids and still manages to be mediocre at best.
-
If they got another top 6 forward, who would they trade? There's no one that they would likely trade that gives them enough cap space to bring a real top 6 forward in. I'm not entirely sure who has NTCs on offense anymore, but I think Cleary still does. They wouldn't trade Dats or Z. I highly doubt Fil would be traded, and we know Franzen won't (think he has a NTC also). That leaves Holmer (who I don't think they'd trade either), Bert, and Williams. The last 3 wouldn't clear enough space for another top 6 player. The only one that they could trade and realistically get enough cap space if Fil, and again, I highly doubt he's going anywhere.
-
Way to completely put words in my mouth. And yes, some of those shots would have gone in, probably at least 50% of them. He's more use to the team as a screener than a goal scorer, and he should be paid as such. I realize his job isn't easy, but his job isn't to score goals either.
-
I never meant to say that deflection goals aren't counted the same as any other goal, and we definitely would be farther down in the s***ter without Holmstrom, but to say that it takes the same skill (thus meaning a player is worth the same amount) to deflect a puck in the net as it does to have a good shot is bad. Also, Holmstrom, with any other players, wouldn't have NEARLY the same amount of goals. Dats' goal slump is party due to the fact that a decent amount of his shots aren't counted as goals for him because Holmer touched the puck ever so slightly before it went into the net.
-
Deflecting pucks into the net for a goal? What the hell are you even talking about? I figured what I said was obvious, but apparently I didn't type it out word for word and it confuses people that don't think before they reply.
-
His goals all come from deflecting the puck in the net literally right in front of the goalie. That's MUCH less impressive than 32 goals from other spots on the ice. Comparing deflecting the puck (albeit still not easy) to being a "real" goal scorer doesn't mean they're worth the same amount of money.
-
I don't see a trade of Filppula, Howard, or Bertuzzi at this point realistic at all... Just because they're the few that don't have a no trade clause doesn't mean its realistic for some of them to be traded.

You did join the year after the 2002 cup... If you're going to bring your join date into it. 2003 is still after 1999 if you didn't notice. Yes, my join date is this year, as I was a regular of the official DRW forums, which now suck. I went looking for a replacement and ended up here, though I've been watching since the early 90s.
-
Lol, 11 million. We have NO chance of getting him here unless he settles for about half that.
-
Did you miss how s***ty this team was for the majority of this season? Does that mean all of are players are average?
-
We offered Hossa 5 mil a season and he turned it down... He didn't want to play in Detroit. If we're doing comparisons, Flip was as good if not better than Hossa last year in the playoffs, where it really matters. Flip's a steal for 3 mil, it seems like your hatred all stems from everyone else liking him, and you just wanting to go against the flow. He's a good player, deal with it.
-
Problem is, he consistently makes mistakes that cause our other, better defensemen, to have to save the day. Our players should only be playing against the other team, not our own too.
-
He is a better than average player.... Did you miss the first part of the season? He was, as Babcock said many times, one of the better players on the ice every night.
