just hoping for a good competitive game from the boys -
If this was true, id make this trade all day every day. I'd do Nyquist, 1st for O'Reilly any day - I'd do any forward not named Z or Dats + 1st even. This guy is a cornerstone guy who would be huge for us for a long time. Image a future long term centre depth being Jarnkrok, O'Reilly, Sheahan, Helm, Abdelkader with Z and Dats playing out their days on the wings...

A Few D-Men That Could Become Available This Year
dirtydangles replied to number9's topic in General
These guys are over the hill. I want to see the wings go for a younger player that is under-appreciated or excess. See Gormley/Rundblad from Phx. I want long term solutions - not another 32+ year old bandaid. -
I have the exact same sentiments. I think that guys will open up more with that healthy lineup and blow defensive coverage like at the start of the year. Huskins has been great IMO. He plays as the complementary dman in the pairing and doesn't take chances. Those pairings have a lot of guys who like to jump up and take chances and that scares me. Someone needs to agree to play second fiddle.

Kronner was a little all over the place tonight - that for me, shows he is stepping out of his comfort zone and trying to do more for the team. I think tonight he tried to do a little too much out there at times, but he is showing a willingness to be "the guy" on D and I like the effort he has shown. He will settle in soon.
-
HAHAHA thats amazing! I was just spitballing I had no idea you guys had these sick ideas to go along with it!
-
star wars night (darth kader etc.) throwback night - refer to all players by the allstar wings player that wore their number (e.g. lebda for jokes)

I want Jarnkrok up badly next year. Pulks should spend a year in grand rapids though. He isn't producing massively at the moment.

gdt 1/27 Red Wings 1 @ Chicago Blackhawks 2 (OT)

bolland was pretty classless there. -
Agreed. We need this kid to come to Detroit. If we aren't going to be trading for talent on D and obviously this year's UFA class is terrible for dmen, we need acquisitions like this to make up for it.
-
I think 25 over 5 is more than fair for PK.
-
You sir are very brave. I wish you and your family all the best in this world. I'll be sure to spend as much time with my family as I can.

also consider his 60pt season last year. Fil had even more points. If Perry isn't back to Hart level this year he hasn't earned 8+. Also take a look at Giroux, Eriksson's contracts then let me know what you think.
-
Are you for real? 8? Thats crosby money. With the new CBA that kind of money would be ridiculous for Perry. Benn got 5.5. I see Perry getting 6-6.5 max as an overpayment. With the new contract structures in the CBA you can't front load deals like before so players have to make a more balanced salary over their contract (aka can't start at 7mill and end at 700k near retirement).

I love it with a few changes: CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Valtteri Filppula ($3.800m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Corey Perry ($5.800m) Gustav Nyquist ($1.000m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Damien Brunner ($2.500m) Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Drew Miller ($1.000m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.800m) / Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) Cory Emmerton ($0.533m) / DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Zach Bogosian ($5.000m) Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) / Brendan Smith ($1.750m) Brian Lashoff ($1.750m) / Kyle Quincey ($3.775m) Jakub Kindl ($1.050m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($4.000m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,341,667; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $958,333 Trade Franzen, Tatar, 2nd/Kindl for Rights to Bogosian. Nyquist Up. Amnesty Buyout Sammy, Colo I tweaked the salaries a bit too. I think howard gets 4mill likely.
-
If benn is under 5.5per under the new CBA then subban sure should be below that. I know they play different positions but Benn is a far more established player at this point and only got 5.5.
-
my buddy did it last night at our hockey game
-
On a serious note: How many of you think we will see Jarnkrok up next season? He will be 22 and has developed quite well.
-
Pulks, Jurco, Frk are shooters. Guys like Jarnkrok, tatar, nyquist can all score but playmake primarily.
-
I'm hoping Kindl takes a big step this year. This time he has a legitimate chance to make the roster without looking over his shoulder. White and Colo are gone for a while and he has a chance to step up without being afraid of losing his spot.
