wings went for forward depth this draft as opposed to dmen like last year. all the decent dmen seemed to disappear in the 1st round pretty much. wish we moved up but, oh well. kenny knows I'm a wings fan for life.

literally nobody on TV mentions the wings when the talk about nash or ryan. pisses me off. they mention nyr getting possible parise, nash, or ryan. i don't think i've heard the wings mentioned once tonight... just steve yzerman

okay, i just wanted to point that out. there were some options that slid late like grigorenko and faksa that would have fit the bill. with how long the wings spend developing their kids, it feels like they need the kid now, as he won't be up until our top guns are old. thats why i'm worried.

Why do you bring up non-centers. Nyquist, Pulkinnen, Jurco are wingers. I'm concerned about our centre position. Not often can you trade for a big first line centre. You DRAFT those. Unless you are luckily like the canes.

okay so aside from Jarnkrok, who is our next no.1 centre? people rate iron hook as a 2nd line centre. Sheahan has shown nothing more than a 3rd line Centre at best so far.

no doubt. teams need to get fleeced in trades for one to get better. its not often that a trade turns out AMAZING for both teams. dog eat dog. holland just refuses to play with the dogs.

i think bettman thrives under the boo. when the flyers got booed his face lit up and he just shook their hands like he was glad it wasn't him.

draft a HUGE european goalie in the 5th and 6th rounds. watch him turn into Rinne or Lundqvist. That is the correct strategy. Goalies are head cases and are less guaranteed. exactly. franzen is effective for a few more years then we lose him for nothing as he's worthless. people need to realize that. time to make this a business again and not a family. thanks for the years johan but we need to succeed and make money and win.

THIS. This inactivity is why I'm scared we won't get much in free agency. not to mention players take note of whether a team is on the rise and are getting better. we can't rely on reputation to get ufas.

the trick is what the flyers did. they had some good players on longish contracts and flipped them for young studs and picks. now they have serious assets. our issue is we let our players get old and then we can't trade them anymore.
