Honestly I would prefer cleary for THIS game. We'll see about other games but it makes sense to have our regulars in for familiarity and see how it goes. If cleary is s*** then he likely won't be in the next game.

Agree with livonia. Any wings fan that would hand in their jersey for another teams jersey isn't a fan we want anyways. f*** em. Furthermore its really classy that the jerseys end up in the right spot in the end. I was anticipating that they would be burned outside the bridgestone center lol but was pleasantly surprised when I read they go to charity. Regardless, I'd rather wear the most trashed up wings jersey 365 days of the year over any other team's pristine jersey for even one day.

And it should also be a reduction in your percent chance if you already picked first the year before. i remember (maybe) a year where chicago moved up from 5th to 1st pick in the lottery and took kane? Thats kinda bulls***, all teams should get a chance (even if slim) to grab a good pick.

edmonton should gtfo and trade MPS for something to help their D so they can play half decent D. like seriously they have 3 lines now of forwards that are young and first round picks. why the f*** would you not work on the D other than to tank and pick up more pieces. They already have the young offensive talent now to trade for a solid Dman but they are getting greedy now.

This is EXACTLY what I just posted in another thread for the offseason plans. Its really hard to justify having Homer back for another season. He just doesn't fit anymore anywhere. I love the guy to death but making line combos that have to include him is impossible unless you throw him with Z and Dats.

Just addressing the forwards for now: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Nyquist Parise-Filppula-Franzen Tatar-Helm-Bertuzzi Miller-Abdelkader-Eaves I just think overall Hudler had a great season but he's not nearly as scary to have in the top 6 unless he's paired with someone amazing (Z). I think as far as longevity goes it makes sense to have Z and Dats back together as they get older so that they don't both take the wear and tear of being a two way center on separate lines. They can just carry the load on one line and Fil has really shown he can hold the puck and play very well defensively so I give him second line center responsibility. Nyquist should be up full time next season and hopefully he can get stronger in the offseason. The best part of the lineup is the solid ass 4th line. Miller-Abby-Eaves is a great line that will put up points and be responsible out there. I also removed Cleary from the lineup in favour of Tatar.... I think cleary is really on a decline and will continue having issues with his knees for time to come. Might as well shed some salary to spend on the back end rather than hold onto him for sentimental purposes (I really love the guy but seriously we can do better for less money). Homer is kinda like Hudler in the sense that he is pretty ineffective on his own out there and needs a supporting cast to be effective. Its really hard to fit guys like that into a lineup as we are now seeing with our current "spare parts" fourth line. I just think its time for him to hang them up with all do respect. It just sucks trying to form line combos and just knowing that Hudler HAS to be in the top 6 to be effective and play with Z and Homer on any bottom 6 line is an anchor with little speed left in the legs - its nice to have guys you can move up and down the lineup without too much thought (kinda like cleary before his injury issues).

Just imagine a lineup with Eaves back in: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Hudler-Filppula-Franzen Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi Miller-Abdelkader-Eaves That has some good balance in my eyes. Homer can still be effective on the top line if its creating space for Z and Dats. Every line has an identity.

well considering babs stated that if he had it his way helm would be in: i think there is pressure on helm to be in for game 1.

If this is the case I think helm will play - can't see helm holding himself out of such a huge game if he can practice with the team with full contact. we need helm badly especially on killing those preds power plays.
