Gustav NEEEDS to shoot that!

f*** a bunch of non-calls that would put detroit on the pp. refs need to be consistent here if they are gonna put NY on the pp.
-
ahhh f***
-
mursak with dats. book it
-
is it me or was that staal hit on nyquist late as f***?
-
reputation call there. no need to make that call.
-
oh ya, for sure. Replace Janik with Lidstrom and we look good even without helm and franzen.
-
overall i really like the way we are taking away the time of NY. Dats has looked a little slow on the back check at times.... nyquist really looks comfortable out there. fil looks like he's trying to do too much after he missed on the break - chillax.

early goal!!!

Our only chance to win is to score early. If we wait around the Rangers WILL light up Conklin. Get the lead for once boys.

So who could the Red Wings get in the offseason?
dirtydangles replied to Jeff6851's topic in General
one factor that makes this prediction so difficult is the new CBA agreement that must be reached AFTER the season finishes. If everything stays the same the cap will go up to 68-72 mill i have read. furthermore, if the cap system is changed somehow, we may not be able to afford certain players as a result. In all honesty, if the cap rises it makes it harder for us to land suter, praise because other teams will be willing to throw excessive contracts at them that we won't. If all stays the same we can fairly offer them around 7-7.5 mill each which not many other contending teams can beat without making major changes. however, if the cap rises to 68mill other teams can move a 2-3mill player and make offers for these guys. this is tough for the wings which will have to overpay these guys which will make it harder to re-sign all our other guys going forward. The possibility of a "contract re-neggotiation" in the new CBA would really turn this league on its head, as players getting inflated contracts that are un-movable due to stupid GMs will become available (ala rick nash) and we may see more trading occurring. We are in a good spot right now however, with really only two terrible contracts (Big E and Bert) and a large amount of cap going into the offseason. Lets just hope Kenny considers some new faces this summer and doesn't just re-sign hudler and homer. -
tanking would be great for any other team. but we have 20 years of consecutive playoffs. other teams would love to see the wings stoop to their level to rejuvenate their lineup. even if howard was gone for the playoffs id still want to make the playoffs.

Did Holland build a BMW instead of a Chevy?

do this stat for last year's teams. also take an average-not sure if same number of players. -
homer is done guys. lets be honest. he doesn't have the effect he used to. his reputation gets him in trouble and his ailing body can't handle the pace of the game.
-
anyone remember when we had macdonald mccollum duo against the blues last year? wow was that bad. this could be worse.

I'm right with you up until sheahan on the 4th line. he hasn't even played an AHL game yet. I think abby up the middle with miller and mursak will do for next year. that line would be nice in a couple years. -

This team needs two things: 1) more size and 2) more speed. Sure there are other needs but these two are the biggest. Holland continues to avoid addressing the needs of the team. When signing players he adds either 1) or 2) but not both. I'm sorry, but the Bertuzzi signing was TERRIBLE. He has size but no speed. He lacks the speed to play top 6 imo and lacks the grit to play bottom 6. Now we have 2 more years of him taking terrible penalties in the offensive zone. When I see Holland pass up a guy like Jeff Carter who has size, speed, right handed centre, sniper, youth (every need we require) at an all time low price - I could not believe it. The ericsson contract was another example of Holland making compromises. IF holland doesn't sign at least one of Suter or Parise in the offseason, I would be confident to say he doesn't have the stones to be a competent GM in the league anymore. He doesn't seem to identify the problems and go about solving them, he would much rather hope they solve themselves. -
WHAT THE F? screw this i'm so fed up its insane. someone call me when lids and franzen get back.

Think how sick our team is healthy: Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Franzen Filppula-Zetterberg-Hudler Abby-Helm-Eaves Miller-Emmerton-Mursak Sit Cleary's broken leg Lidstrom-White Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Quincey Why oh why can't we look like this....... killlll meeeeee

honestly i think that babs needs to load up the lines: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Hudler Bertuzzi-Filppula-Nyquist Miller-Abby-Mursak Homer-Emmerton-Cleary (sit this line) Kronwall-Stuart Quincey-White Smith-Janik (minimum time)
