well franzen isn't getting any younger or less injury prone so it would be nice to have reliable scoring. his contract isn't that great either for the future. also i'd like to mention that detroit is highest in the league in dman scoring so the total goals for has a lot to do with our d corps. forward corps could use some more work imo. we have eaves who has only played 10 games for the pk guy you talk about and a guy like nabby at the deadline would solve the goalie issue.

perry or ryan would make the most sense. I'd be willing to give up a lot for one of them. don't forget that ryan can play center and both guys shoot right. getz just isn't the scorer we truly need but of course i'd be happy to have him anyways - guess we could move Z back with Dats.

Sebastien Collberg looked pretty awesome in the shootouts. kid's got skill. love to snag him if possible.

Franzen, tatar, stuart for perry. Makes sense to replace a rw with a rw. We have loads of center depth and getz isnt required like a perry type player who can light the lamp almost every night and is young. If in fact stuart wants back on the west coast and is willing to re-sign with the ducks this is a great package. Throw in a 3rd conditional if stuart doesnt re-sign.

Hudler-Datsyuk-Franzen Filppula-Zetterberg-Nyquist Bertuzzi-Abdelkader-Cleary Emmerton-Andersson-Miller Ride the top 2 lines heavy for the most part. 3rd line is pretty solid. 4th used sparingly. This is the only thing that really makes sense as hudler is useless on the 4th and nyquist should be in top 6.

so im not okay with this at all. if a lightning fan ever walked into the joe with that he wouldn't be leaving with it attached to his body.

hows this work if pronger is out for the rest of his career? are the flyers off the hook for his 35+ contract because it was a concussion that caused retirement?

Flip almost looks like datsyuk out there at times with the way he moves and holds onto the puck - no way I want him traded this season at all. Love our play, would have been nice to have a 3 goal cushion but thats life.

i feel like this has to do with smith staying up. and the fact that babs seemingly changed his mind on smith staying up. i have a hunch that we will be sending a dman - i hope not kindl, but likely kindl to the yotes in a package for turris. seems fishy. i know smith has been playing well, but he nor kindl deserves to sit and i don't buy the whole "someone has a booboo" s*** babs said.

id love to work something around carter. we could use a right handed center. i mean okay, he had issues in philly but the ones he has in cbj are all due to the fact that he got traded to the worst team in the league. I think he'd be a great fit here. I'd try something around cleary, ericsson, 1st for carter - detroit adds a prospect. I wish hudler could be added but won't work for the bj's cap. Kindl looks good and is much cheaper than ericsson and without big E's contract thats more money to throw at suter. Bring smith up for good.

My belief is right now we have far too many "bottom 6" guys. Many of which are not bottom 6 material anymore. then we have some "top 6" guys that are fringe top 6 at best. I really think its time for kenny to make a decision and trade a top 6 player or 2 like cleary or hudler for something. I say something because i have no idea what he will package with him. but its way too evident that there is not enough space in the bottom 6 and players like eaves, nyquist, tatar, helm, abby could be regulars on the at least the 3rd maybe even the 2nd line. Next season bert and homer have to go. i love homer but its just not working anymore and bert cant stay at all. I see this for next year: Filppula-Datsyuk-Franzen TRADE-Zetterberg-Nyquist Tatar-Helm-Eaves Bruno/Miller-Abdelkader-Mursak Emmerton We need some youth in the top lines to begin with. I really see cleary being shipped out while he still has value. Hudler doesn't have what it takes to play in the detroit top 6 and he can't get by on skill when he can't play defense at all. In my honest opinion that TRADE spot could be a guy like Parise - but whoever it is it has to be someone young who can score. Period. That pretty much solves the bottom 6 too. Maybe sign a type of enforcer player like brad may a couple years back. The D is a whole other problem. Sorry for the cleary and hudler lovers but i just see them as having value still and not being essential to the team at this point.

and they are "best friends" and would just be total flakes to their respective teams to play together. doubt it highly. some team will sell the farm or something to get one of them.
