just looking a wpg's d situation, i think bogo could be available if we give them good value back (aka not just huds). DEFENSEMEN Dustin Byfuglien ($5.200m) / Ron Hainsey ($4.500m) Tobias Enstrom ($3.750m) / Johnny Oduya ($3.500m) Mark Stuart ($1.700m) / Derek Meech ($0.700m) Already got a top 4 that are all decently young (all 30 or younger) and making a fair chunk of cash. if bogo is looking for 4.5+ i don't see them doing it right now with the guys they already have signed at higher salaries... If we can offer a good package (im not going to speculate) i think they could live with losing bogo looking at the d they have signed already.

i haven't said holland's a bad GM for the record... im with you, holland is still one of the best. but this contract and the decision to have ericsson back kinda sucks. unless e is taking lessons from lids all offseason i fail to see how he lives up to that deal.

i don't think huds should stick around at this point. don't need to useless players at 3mill contracts on one roster....

franzen's contract is going to look terrible in a couple years. he's injury prone and signed till hes like 40.... i'm not a fan of that contract.... burns is a great dman. u can't just point out his faults and then say franzen has none. franzen is very injury prone. so pluses on burns... young, loads of potential on a great team like detroit, young, big, right shot....

this is a TERRIBLE signing. there's no silver lining here. ericsson brings minimal offense and he's not the strongest defensively. is there a clause in his contract that says we're off the hook with him if he keeps taking boneheaded penalties at the end of games? jesus. holland gonna do the sign and trade? i hope so. but who would take that contract? its terrible.
