    Chris Drury

well if this is true and they have to keep his salary on the books, its one less destination for richards. its toronto or long shot take a salary hit to come here.

Wild Firesale Could Mean Wings Benefit

he would be a sick 3rd/4th line addition imo. wouldn't mind him on our team one bit. Replace hudler or miller. id be down. had more goals than hudler last season lol.

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

if im a goalie, that rattles me. its kinda weird. just cheer for the guy.
  4. dirtydangles

No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

problem is, babs likes to mess with the lineups and that doesn't provide many options in terms of who would play well with who. Too many floaters. One per line is too much. if im holland im saying this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDnXkFVEQ0Y

crymson has shut me down on multiple occasions for suggesting a trade for burns. He claims that Burns will walk the next year when he becomes a UFA and that we shouldn't give up assets for a one year rental. I think he'd resign, but hell, crymson's opinion seems to be the only one that matters. Nevertheless, I want him more than anything this offseason. really truly a rafalski replacement and potential to help with the transition for life after nic. Imagine having something like this for the next 5 or so years: Kronwall - Burns Smith - Wisniewski Kindl/UFA - Stuart Thats pretty bullet proof imo without nic (if smith is really the stud we think he is). I think its important to have at least one rookie in the D lineup all the time, as 1) helps with cap, 2) prevents us from getting old and keeps guys that know the system going. The only reason i write "Kindl/UFA" is that i doubt if we traded for Burns that kindl wouldn't be going the other way in a package.

his age matches the time period of that throwback 1926 jersey.

    Changes in the offseason

not too mention helm and abby will be tearing it up in 3-4 years. helm already kinda is....

    James Wisniewski

try to get hime for 4-4.75mill. anything over 5 mil and he can walk imo. i want him bad, but not that bad. we still need money for a lidstrom replacement. he shouldn't be making more than kronner when he gets his new contract, and i think we all agreed he'd command less than 5 mil as well.

Do you want Jagr on the red wings? Do you think he will work out? Do you think he will regain his nhl form from his youth?

    Changes in the offseason

followup to the response about trading franzen or flip... its already been discussed a bit by a few people, but for the newcomers, would anyone see a trade for Brent Burns happening? maybe with franzen or fil as a part of the deal? People are worried about him not resigning with us when he becomes a UFA at the end of the year, but i don't see many other dmen worth trading for (that are gettable)... id personally risk it, we can promise him a big salary when lids retires and detroit is a great team to play for...

    James Wisniewski

get er done kenny. I've already mentally incorporated him into the team. when I'm looking at roster spaces on capgeek I throw him in from the start. i like the idea of him in detroit.

This is exactly what everyone was saying about Modano when he came. Except instead of playing in KHL he came from another nhl team. Not too mention there are a lot of ifs in your post. I don't it to be up in the air about whether he will perform. Its a blunt NO from me. Make room for the young guys. not to mention itd be a slap in the face to drapes and ozzie if we sign another old guy like this and let them go.

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?

apparently luongo didn't get this message.... regardless, I just don't like it when I'm with a bunch of canucks fans watching the playoffs and they are all experts all of a sudden. These are people I KNOW watch maybe 3 regular season games. Then I ask them if they know who Pavel Bure is and they are like "Who?" Thats like asking a wings fan who Federov is... and everyone knows that - and im not exaggerating when I say everyone. Regardless, I hate every team other than the wings. there is only varying degrees of hate.

He played great in one tournament, not an 82 game season. As another poster said, I'd rather have Zherdev. He's about as "safe" as Jagr, but if he shines in detroit we will be able to keep him around rather than him retiring. And yes, if we do Jagr then Hudler HAS to go.

    Changes in the offseason

if you were to move fil (not saying we should), possibly in a package, who would you move him for? I suggested moving Franzen a couple times and nobody liked the idea of that... Kenny says he's up for a trade if theres one to be had, i can't see anyone else really being moved.

my problem is that this puts another one of our young guys out of a regular position again.... might as well resign modano, draper, ozzie. seriously. I mean look at other teams: people are shocked that carter is 26 and puts up mad points or that Burns/Weber are so young and talented. The fact is that they had time from a young age to ripen. Our young guys don't come up till they are usually 24 and they don't get much in terms of minutes. Young talented guys are great for everything: keeping, trading for big return, health/injuries, and energy. Don't say that only top 5 picks can make the jump at an earlier age, weber was a 2nd rounder. I want to have more guys like helm and abby that we can count on for the future, forget these "one year wonders" and invest in our youngsters.

Players Worth the Price of Admission

kirilenko and sharapova vs. ivanovic and kournikova doubles would be unreal. id watch the crap out of that.

ill give him 100 to not do this and then sign Wiz. id add 1000 to get one of Richards or Carter.

Babcock Interview + Jagr to Detroit Rumor

can we not go through another modano situation? like seriously, why are we signing old players that nobody wants to short contracts? so they can get injured and not have an impact? I absolutely do not want Jagr anywhere near the team.
