IMO, we need to go back to Z-Dats-Homer first to maximize potential. I hate to suggest it because the H-D-C line is key right now. But with Flip and Mo returning, there is potential for more effective line combos i think. There will be a lot of guys who go silent if the HDC line stays together for much longer. Franzen and Homer are the tip of the iceberg. I see Bert following along, and Z hasn't been scoring. Let datsyuk center him and we'll see him score more. Fil isn't a prolific scorer, so he could center Hudler and Franzen. I'd like Bert-Mo-Cleary. I say this stuff and it doesn't make sense now, because we have some scoring from the first line, but not much from the others. There was a stat that they have scored like 27 of the last 54 goals for the wings or something. Thats a little lopsided, i'd like to see some more balance like earlier in the year when at least two lines were firing on any given night. I guess what im saying is: would you guys roll into the playoffs with HDC as first line? no, we'd all be wanting ZDH cause its clutch as f***. Why not make the transition now when everyone returns.

homer needs skilled guys around him to be effective. thats the main problem here. can't sit him really. there is no solution to this unless someone starts playing poorly.

Draper has been great lately, and he's put up more points than abby lately.

i think huds has been great lately, still not earning his salary, but he works hard out there. I've seen him stripping pucks off guys and skating as hard as he can. Looks decent on the pp. i expect those stats to go up, because he has only played a few games with dats over that 22 game span, and if he keeps getting to play with him, they could skyrocket.

i like this trade. for both teams. burke is stripping it down to the young guys and then i fully expect he'll insert some veteran guys where needed for the time being. he has picked up 2 first rounders in this draft from versteeg and kaberle, albeit they are late picks, but still. And he picked up a first rounder from 2008 and got some extra picks. now he just has to avoid signing some washed up players for the rest of the season. ie. not another lebda.

honestly, i think we have enough top six talent at the moment to not trade hudler for some help on D or G. its kind of annoying that we have guys going cold cause they get bottom 2 line minutes due to the extreme depth. i count it, because he tried to let bert or z (i can't remember) score first, and then he was rewarded. so i don't think it was that cheap. i'll count it. glass half full.
