True true... damn... i guess id take Asham for UFAs and Ladd for RFA's. rather have ladd than asham though.
-
wow, way to abandon professionalism and try and call maclean out on TV.... Bettman attacks him to avoid questions. we need to get rid of this plague! my life starts the day bettman is gone.

nah, i think its just the fresh start. leino had a huge mental battle in detroit. He played his best and earned his spot in detroit and now in philly when he had little expectations on him. sammy was just playing out of his mind to prove a point, not to mention his missing the olympics. kopecky has just gotten more ice time and trust. I wouldnt say that detroit doesnt know how to get the best out of their players... we just have too many players with a lot of potential, and it is very difficult to spread the ice time to reveal that potential. its a good problem to have.
-
LEINO after these playoffs i love the guy again. no grit, but who cares.
-
just checked.. 11 pts in 10 games. nice. and he took 6 shots today, most on team. i see much more confidence in ville in philly.
-
i didnt want to let him go... too bad. hes played great for philly especially tonight as he scored. i find myself rooting for him when hes out there even though i am canadian and should prolly cheer for canadiens... oh well, i dont like anyone other than detroit really. itd be nice if an original 6 team wins i guess.

the penalty distribution in the wings/sharks series was lopsided even though the sharks decided to goon it up in game 4 when they went down 5 goals in one period, without that game where there were dumb penalties taken from the sharks (Thornton etc) that evened the totals out a bit, if you exclude that game the penalties were almost embarrassingly lopsided. looks like itll be more of the same in this game. it was the first thing that was addressed at the end of the games by commentators, and was slightly overlooked in the wings series. there has to be some sort of game management by the refs to recognize when and when not to call the weak calls, because they didnt call any for chicago, and there was a trip on setoguchi where he didnt keep his feet moving and kinda flopped and there was a call, i dont really know what to think.

intent to blow has to go. its not fair for all teams. if the ref doesnt blow the play dead fast enough, it will be the same for all teams. the intent to blow also depends on the refs vantage point on the ice and is sometimes not even close to being right. everyone will get equal chances if intent to blow is gone because it wont depend on the individual referee's style during the game - everyone drives the net. I would like to see more liberal kicking the puck in the net rules..... I mean, the rule was so that goalies wouldnt be cut, so you could not lift your skate blade to kick it in, however, now, you cant even direct your skate pretty much as we say with the sedin goal earlier. its just too nitpicky, id say as long as the skate is on the ice its a good goal regardless of kicking because its just as dangerous then as driving the net and having the puck hit your body and go in.

screw the enforcers... Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Hudler Cleary - Helm - UFA Eaves - Abdelkader - Miller 1. Wellwood at 1.2 mil - age 26 Chicago might let their RFA's slide with their money issues: 2. Brouwer - 1.05 mil - age 23 3. Ladd - 1.65 - age 24 That leaves 2 dominating top lines that are pp units too, and a third line that is capable of scoring frequently, and a forth line that is solid and won't let any in on our end and pitch in with a couple goals.

lol, we wouldn't have a 1,2, or 3 pairing. it would be an equal spread. no weak spots. especially then lids-rafi could play less minutes on most nights. i dont think lids needs another season with those same minutes next year. if not, they could switch up the pairings regularly.

lils deserves a spot well ahead of ericsson. he does everything better than ericsson (other than offense), so he shouldn't lose his spot to ericsson who gives pucks away and doesnt play d. lilja is a safe guy to put on the ice night in and night out. id like to see him back for a little less money. if lids returns at a hometown discount, id love: lids - rafi kronner - stuart volchenkov or michalek - lilja Ericsson That would be an unbelievable defense, not to mention there is no weak links like this year which was ericsson, meech, and lebda on the 3rd pairing. Then we get rid of mccrimmon, and we are solid, no more goals on jimmy.

Who should we Keep? Release? Sign?

bert, draper, malts have to go, we have a lot of experience, and draper and malts dont bring offense and bert doesnt play defense often, id like to see detroit get rid of these guys this year, and pick up either wellwood, ladd, brouwer etc. guys that can score on the thrid line without much help from star players. they also run about the same price as bert or less, and are young. chicago will have to let some of their guys go... i want eaves and miller and abby in next year cause they are great role players. id love these d pairings: Stuart-Kronner Lids - Rafi Volchenkov - Lilja Ericsson, Kindl, Smith as reserves. -
wings against sens before the olympic break. i was there, it was a great game.
-
he is great, he won the olympic gold, coached this team to 2 finals. there are many coaches with great teams that dont have this success. i think he needs to stop hinting that players need to step up and just kick them in the ass. he did a good job with an injured team this year, and honestly, is there any other coach in the league you would rather have?
-
me too, i will keep cheering, but i feel like this team will give it up on thursday without a fight. however, if ozzie started and made some big saves early and made the boys believe, then things would get interesting. its a big enough change to unsettle the sharks. i mean, its the best possible situation for ozzie, he has no real pressure to win the series, and he is not expected to be amazing, so theres a chance for him to relax and prove he still has it.
-
in all honesty, it was very amateur of him to try to gain the zone by himself and stay deep there. its overtime in a must win playoff game, let the forwards play offense and the defenders play d, and dont force anything. he does not stand his ground or hit. he is not lidstrom in the making like people say - he isnt. and i gotta say, lilja should have been in and ericsson scratched - lilja was +1 and playing solid. that play that ericsson made at the end of the game is the s*** i expect from lebda-who was alright. need eaves badly. id trade him and try to pick up a solid, stable, stay at home d-man. give some of our youngsters a chance too.
-
I totally agree. 1st and 3rd goals totally his fault. he needs to step aside and take it as a learning experience. i mean, he wont lose 4 games of the series at least. Ozzie will get a small chance to come up clutch even through hes cold, i want to see a wall, and i kinda think it will happen. I love howard, and support him totally, but its not going to be great for him to come in after the last game, i see him being more nervous not to be swept and not letting it roll off his back.

The real reason we are losing this series...

slice it up with a pair of sharp skates. then take the pieces and remove them from your property... put it in a public garbage can or something so it is no longer on a wings fan's property. -
u actually bothered to paste that face 200 times? why dont you just strip down naked and ring pavelski's doorbell, maybe give him a handjob.
