im loving nash. i dont really like crosby even though im canadian, hes just not my kind of player. i dont like perry even though he played for my hometown london knights. ive liked keith, richards, morrow and the san jose line just fine. just no crosby. i think pronger should have been replaced with brad stuart. why doesnt he play for canada.... im not getting it.

from what i saw at the game tonight, kronner's injury is gone. i wouldnt trade hime, he's gotta try and fill lids' shoes when he retires and he would have seen what it takes to lead like lids.

don't push the big red button!

agreed. even if the team is just starting to come alive over the last two games, the olympic break won't help them get the momentum going. i'd like to see our forward lines stay very close to the same they are now. that eaves helm draper line is dynamite, and our first two look very good with franzen back. the other line with williams is just a mish-mash of players with different styles. what is williams going to do with miller and maltby or whoever. I just want to see our team looking like itself by the end of the season; if we make the playoffs, awesome. if we don't, at least we are still the detroit red wings playing like we used to.

don't we all....

I think this could easily get out of hand, they could start putting adds everywhere but the ice. im not a huge fan of it.

2/13 - Against Ottawa - Biggest Game of the Year to Date
dirtydangles replied to Z and D for the C's topic in General
i'm seeing the game on saturday - two SO losses means they're due for a win. wink wink. -
i can't see why homer got an interference penalty for giving a shove when the goalie was shoving him from behind and then when he went for the puck on the icing, he was interfered with and no call given. wtf? oh, plus the franzen one and the stick to dats in front of the net by nichol. wings look soooo good though. unfortunately, we lose games we look good in. hopefully the mule will change that. i think we will have to change his name to spark plug or something.

I'm kinda impartial to this, I don't really see tollefsen playing a game in a wings jersey anytime soon or in the future. I'd rather have Janik/Kindl up than tollefsen because they already know the system and have been bred to be wings. just my opinion though

Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN
dirtydangles replied to a topic in General
So glad franzen is back! i'd love to see homer in the lineup because then we'd have 2 lines with a big man who can provide net presence. i hope eaves isn't out for much longer because we need that solid third line intact. Im kinda glad that kronner isn't back, because I think he needed to step back and make sure he has his body in order, and I think this new brace will give him more confidence to play his regular style of play when hes back, rather than being overly careful all the time. -
Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Miller-Filppula-Williams (Maltby in and out probably on this line) Draper-Helm-Eaves This i agree with for sure. love it. flip has williams as a triggerman, and miller as some net pressence down low/grinding. dominating 3rd line to me.

The fans can figure it out ... (realignment)
dirtydangles replied to whitewolf406's topic in General
the division with pitt, washington, and NJ, columbus, philly is pretty competitive compared to Nash, atl, florida, TB, carolina. and i dont see pitt, wash, NJ getting any worse anytime soon. -
i'd say flip is solid at what he does, protect the puck until he can make a scoring chance happen, kinda like dats. having said that, he doesn't have nearly the scoring touch that I so badly want him to possess. When dats shoots the puck, he is deadly, even though he doesn't do it often, he chooses his times wisely. Flip just doesnt seem to know when to shoot, and when he does, its not usually of the highest quality sometimes. I see him being a good second liner on many teams, but with the wings, he doesnt cut it. With Franzen back, we don't need flip in the top 2, cause we have a good handful of guys that are good at scoring and[/b] creating chances. On the wings, flip fits great into a third line, because he gets to play cheaper defensmen and dominate more on his shifts. Thats why i'd prefer to see him on the third line, because he would be a very talented third liner with a knack for causing scoring chances, which is great to get out of a thrid line. no doubt though that he should be a second liner, just not here in detroit at this moment. When some of our older guys (homer, bert) kick it, flip would be prime to replace them as a top 2 liner. By the way, did I say I love the guy? wouldn't want to see him traded away.

I know this isn't really a surprise... but it kinda is, Babcock kept talking about his potential and when people asked him about leino and a trade he always said they want to keep him around until he turns into something more. I really hoped at the end of last year that leino would be a great player for the wings, and I still hoped that up until today, not that I love the guy, but I wanted to see him do well. He just seemed confused with what he needed to focus on and forgot the most important part of being a hockey player which was playing with heart. poor guy, i don't see him taking this well, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would see a trade as an opportunity to start fresh to me; he'll probably get down on himself. Regardless, it had to be done, because we are in a crunch for the playoffs, and Miller is playing 40 timse better and is an integral part of the team as we see it now, so it would be absolutely unfair and irresponsible for Leino to stay out of potential over Miller who performs. Here's to Leino, all the best. Your presence will be missed as we can't rip on you in these forums anymore for our team's bad play. P.S. who will we blame for our bad play after lebda is gone?

-1 isn't bad for a night where there was 5 goals against.
-
it will be the wierdest feeling to see kovy in a devils uniform. it just doesn't feel right.
-
if the refs have "intent to blow", that goal off the hand was "intent to swat," he followed through with the motion after. even if it wasnt initial.
-
this better not be another episode of 6-0 against NYI
-
we need this win badly to help jump the preds and get into a safer place in the playoff pic. lets hope our guys come out to play.
-
take your pick. looks like it could be knee or ankle
-
and of course the NSH PHX game goes to OT, 0-0 so that they both pick up a point... so damn annoying that teams can both gain points this way
-
all i have to say is hes da boss. loving the new scoring touch.
-
i really dont like that the flames are doing this when they are so close to the playoffs. although its great for us, with their loss last night we jumped them in the standings.
-
im really not sure until i see this. i really can see it getting to cute out there as you said, but it would be good to split up Z and dats to spread some offense to the second line. Williams is on the forth from that article.... im guessing he'll take every shot he has.

great news, we are almost out of excuses for this team losing, once franzen is back, its do or die. lilja isnt going to solve our offensive struggles when he returns.
