Z gave that puck away then glided back on a lazy back check. I still think he's injured. His skating has been slower this year.

Weisser just doesn't have Babcock's trust. Its as simple as that. It means a lot that Nestrasil is playing over him (especially considering Nesty hasn't done much in his 3 games and Weiss is a seasoned NHL producer and 100% healthy). Its really frustrating for the fans and must be 1000x more frustrating for Weiss. Hopefully Weiss is the kind of player that derives motivation from this stuff rather than just getting his confidence battered (like Kindl).

I agree that most of these guys are under performing. I would hold onto Howard though and move Monster. I don't see a long term future for any of those players however. It is just too much to move them all in one year. If we moved on from Cleary, Quincey, Kindl this year and then Franzen and Ericsson the following year we would probably survive. But all at once would be suicide.

I honestly think he is the most expendable of our top 4. Kronner, Smith, DD will be here for a long time. I can see Ericsson being moved in the next 2-3 years if we are able to land a RH D and the kids keep developing the way they do. -

I think staged fighting is lame and the NHL can remove that. But if two players get hot and want to go I think it should be good to go and part of the competition. -

I still see Bergeron as a really really good 2C - he doesn't produce enough to be an ideal 1C. Krejci is a really good 2C as well. These guys are steps below Datsyuk, Toews, Crosby, Tavares, etc. Datsyuk was back checking in the NHL when Bergeron was still in diapers (I know I'm exaggerating a lot). -

I would do this with Dats back then transition back to Z and Dats together once Weiss gets settled. Franzen - Z - Nyquist Helm - Datsyuk - Weiss Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Miller - Glendening - Nestrasil -
Unfortunately at that point Z and Dats will be over the hill and we will be searching for a 1C instead of D.

Ouellet hardly counts as "breaking in" considering Babs says he looks like a vet already. It would just be Jensen or one other kid to break in in addition to Ouellet. I would say keep Lash as a 7th who rides pine and bring 2 kids up would have been my preference (similar to yours).

Q would be worth keeping if we didn't have much more promising players in the pipeline as he can be a run of the mill Dman in the NHL. If we had nothing in GR I would be fine icing him if we can't land anything else in FA. But guys like Q, Lash, and Kindl who don't have much of a ceiling anymore we fans get fed up and want to break in some kids with high potential.

Sportsk is pretty good. They have authentic stuff at great prices. They also have (haven't looked in a while) older jersey styles and brands. Ebay isn't bad if you have time to look for bargains.
