I'm surprised we couldn't get it done for under 2.5mill. -

I wanted Mueller last time he hit Free Agency. He is a Michigan kid if I remember correctly and has a big frame to go with his RH shot. Always like him despite the injuries. Doesn't make much sense to get him anymore with our kids + Cleary. -
Signed Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Then Kindl goes to a couple teams in the west and improves greatly - then Holland desperately trades a 1st round pick at the trade deadline for him and then Kindl stinks up the joint here again and gets re-signed for 4.25mill. -
'District Detroit': Red Wings' New Arena Details Released

Love the concept! You can tell they designed this place to maximize its usefulness to not just the red wings but also the community. Its great that restaurants and stores can stay open all week and the lighting of the arena is just so cool - reminds me of allianz soccer stadium in munich germany where bayern munich plays. -

I'd be willing to move significant assets for Seabrook. RH Top pair Dman on a cap hit of 5.8mill for 2 more years. You would think the Blackhawks wouldn't even be considering trading him. If I were the hawks I'd be trying to dump Rozsival and/or Oduya on the backend and Bickel and Versteeg up front. The Hawks could probably cut enough cap for 2015-2016 with this lineup: Saad - Toews - Kane Hossa - Teravainen - Sharp Morin - Shaw - Smith Ross - Kruger - Regin (2 kids on ELCs) Keith - Seabrook Hjalmarsson - Oduya Leddy - Rundblad Clendening -

Cautiously excited - if this arena is planned anything like the Wings last 3 off seasons it could be a disaster. -

Tatar doesn't really deserve much more than Sheahan at 950k. DD should be given a deal around Kindl cap hit. -
Holland must have suffered a traumatic brain injury recently (that or drugs). If he wants Green you KNOW he is going to overpay.
-
This - and if we do it will be someone the fans don't even want (someone washed up) who will make it harder for kids to get a chance.

Actually pretty good. Loved the Oberyn Martell reference for the Sharks being up 3-0 on the Kings.

Signed Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

If someone can find an email address I think we should all email our disgust with Holland and the last few years. Next up - Holland will re-sign Alfie and then hit the golf course. Holland spends his time negotiating with Cleary and not signing our remaining RFA's Tatar and Dekeyser to contracts - shows what he values most. -

Are you ******* serious? Dan Cleary? 1 year deal? This has got to be the apocalypse... -
Kane & Toews Sign Identical 8-year, $10.5M AAV Extensions
dirtydangles replied to _SP_'s topic in General
I think they should have been around 9.5 each. When you look at Getzlaf you have to think about 1mill more. -
I was thinking about it and there IS incentive for the caps to trade green now - they could potentially lose him for nothing next offseasoon and its not like he makes them a legit contender. Makes sense to cash in now when they get more value. This isn't the case for Buffalo and Myers.

Saad at 4-7mill? Are you serious? That is crazy off an RFA contract for a 21 year old that is feeding off Toews. If there is ONE thing Holland does well - its signing our RFAs to reasonable contracts. Also - the wings are looking good for the next couple years with our superstars locked up at bargain contracts. Its not likely we will be handing anything in the area of 6+ to any of our players in the next while (unless we luck out in FA LOL not likely). We are in a good position to snag some talent from teams trying to shed cap. -
Ain't nobody got time for Quincey! But really I doubt anyone tries to pick him up.
-
We absolutely can afford to cut some guys and eat their contracts. At this point we aren't making splashes in FA and we have loads of rookie contracts. If a rookie wins someone's job then we should just eat the cap hit to cut the player and let the kid play.
-
If I were GM I would have tried to construct a D like this: Kronwall - Smith Dekeyser - Ericsson Del Zotto - Marchenko Lashoff Never would have signed Quincey. Would have traded or bought out Kindl (we have the cap space for the next few years). I would have tried to get Del Zotto on a 2 year deal and tried to turn his value around. After this year I would be looking to trade E/Smith/DZ (depending on their value at the end of the year) in a package for a RH Dman and clear up one more roster space for Sproul. Signing Del Zotto would have been high reward low risk considering we have insurance in GR. If Del Zotto found his game again he could be traded or make Smith/E more expendable for trading purposes. Nobody wants Quincey because he has already reached his potential and it isn't worth his contract. EDIT: I also always thought "Del Zotto" would look sick on the back of a Wings jersey.
-
Its not the contract - its the roster space.
-
They clearly didn't know that Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan were ready to go... It took loads of injuries to find out. Same thing will happen again in all likelihood with the D. If there is anything you can expect from the Wings and Holland - they never change.
-
I think at least 2 of our D prospects will be ready after THIS season - so ya it will interfere. Ideally we'd break one in this year and then move Lashoff and Kindl out and break in another next year.
-
I'm hoping this positive experience with Marchenko will warm the Wings to taking more Russian born players. I think we have passed on some real talent in the past due to the russian factor.

Got my vote
