Switch Ouellet to Jensen and I am happier.

I just hope this ends soon - for both parties involved. I can't imagine living for years with this going on.

I'd trade Tatar + Kindl (roster spot) + 1st 2015 for Myers but that is about it. Jurco is too valuable with his size and skill blend and Nyquist is just too good already to move. Obviously I'd rather give up Pulkkinen before Tatar but Pulkkinen wouldn't be enough to get it done as a main piece. I'd be most willing to give up the our prospects in this order: Pulkkinen Tatar Backman Marchenko Ouellet Jurco = Nyquist Sproul Mantha I just think Tatar is most easiest replaced due to his size and Pulkkinen could step into his shoes.

Is Del Zotto really so bad that he can't get a contract as a 24 year old Dman? To me he is pretty much Smith 2.0 in terms of style, size, and potential.

Thing is - the only thing we are doing right is drafting and developing. There are many other components of team management such as: - conditioning (injuries) - trading - signing free agents - etc. And we are failing in every category right now other than drafting and developing.

Holland said before the deadline that he would not move our young talent for a rental. Its official - he lied. I wish he would at least admit that he made a misjudgement there.

If Weiss can put up 50 points as a 2C I will be a lot happier this year. Having 4 C's that are very talented for their position is a huge deal. Datsyuk is an elite 1C, Weiss (hopefully) is an average 2C, Sheahan is more than a 3C, and Helm is a mega elite 4C.

I think Mantha should be given every opportunity to make this team in the top 6. He needs looks early on. Jurco should start the season where he ended it - kid line.

So Holland constructing a team out of old injury prone forwards and replacing them when injured with youth was good GMing? He fixed his own mistake with players that initially would have been the solution. Lets be real - Holland fixed a problem that he made himself.

I completely agree. If we can construct a D corps that is at least okay defensively but very offensively skilled I think we have the forwards to compliment them defensively and put the puck in the net. If we can start scoring at a decent clip again it will take pressure off of Howard and we won't be giving up so many shots if we move the puck well and stop turning the puck over in our zone. We have just been turning the puck over so much or just clearing the zone and giving possession back that we can't possibly survive out there.

I'd only be moving Kindl+ or Quincey+ the other way. No way I move Smith or DD just to get a RHD.

Needs: New GM New Coach - Blashill Fancy New Arena (although the Joe rules) I think that is the way to go. Its time to stop looking to the past to justify the present. Our past success doesn't mean as much the further and further we get from it. We are 6 years removed from our last cup and only moving away from the finals every year. I don't want to be the guy who is still bragging to his friends years from now that "we haven't won the cup in 15 years but you have to admit our playoff streak is pretty ******* amazing."

Is it possible the Wings are using this camp as a way to see how Marchenko is progressing after his injury? That is the only reason I could see him being asked to come.

I'd do it in a heartbeat - not sure the Caps would though. With the 2 huge contracts they just picked up on D I would assume they don't plan on re-signing Green though. Might take Kindl+ to get Green.

I agree with the idea that Helm and Abby should be offered before Tatar. I don't mind dismantling our Bottom 6 depth if it means keeping our Top 6 together and upgrading our D. We have loads of Bottom 6 depth and Helm and Abby should have decent value. Everyone loves Helmer and Abby but we have Sheahan, Glendening, Miller, Andersson, Ferraro, Callahan, and Athanasiou. It might be time to cash in on Helm and Abby now. Helm/Abby + Smith/E + 1st for a solid RH Dman?

I think we will get a top 10 pick next year. Our D is so terrible and Howard isn't exactly standing on his head. If one or more of Kronwall/Z/Dats misses 30+ games with an injury we will be looking at a top 8 pick for sure.

Does anyone actually think Holland will make a trade for a quality Dman? I used to get excited that something may happen but at this point I'm so deflated from his inability to do anything the last while.

Every shift Quincey is on the ice I am just holding my breath that we keep the puck out of our net - you don't pay 4.25 mill for that.

I think this year we have to split Z and Dats up at least until Weiss settles in: Weiss - Datsyuk - Mantha Franzen - Zetterberg - Nyquist Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Abdelkader - Helm - Glendening Miller - Andersson Our forward group is actually pretty good. However the D is just a disaster: Kronwall - Smith Dekeyser - Quincey Ericsson - Marchenko/Kindl Lashoff

I wish Holland had the stones to offer sheet Johansen or O'Reilly. I would give up multiple first rounders for those guys. Worth an overpayment to get a player of that talent and we already have a strong prospect pool (except top 6 C).

At this point I would be happy if we traded for a RH D. Somebody like: Larsson Green (1 year left) Boychuk Shattenkirk Connor Murphy Tanev Gudbranson Myers The thing is - I think Pulks SHOULD have loads of value. I'd avoid selling low on him. He scored 30+ goals in the AHL as a rookie and could do more. I think Tatar should be the guy to move considering his value is pretty high throughout the league and isn't Sheahan/Jurco/Mantha/Nyquist.
