So in the first line Holland basically says - if we want to blame someone for losing Jarnkrok we should be pissed at Weiss for not being ready - then blame Helm or Datsyuk.

At what point do we start considering Almquist as a possible asset? Even if he is undersized and not rugged - he has 52 points in 69 games right now. I would prefer to have him play over Kindl as he can actually run a power play and pass the puck effectively. He can't be much worse than Kindl in his own zone right now. Would be nice to showcase him right now and then trade him if he isn't in our long term plans due to ouellet, sproul, marchenko.

Kindl is a disaster. Lashoff doesn't make me hate him every game but he doesn't contribute much out there. I would rather replace Kindl at this point over Lashoff. At least Lashoff is pretty consistent every night. Kindl just has no clue. We are seeing Lashoff exposed more when he plays with Kindl. Ideally if Marchenko wasn't injured with could pair him with Lashoff for now and then when E gets back pair him with Quincey. I was complaining for years that our prospects don't become true assets until they play nhl games and prove they can produce. That is why people kept claiming we had no trade pieces (and now I wouldn't trade any of them). Holland should always keep a 12th forward/6th dman spot up for grabs between kids and let them compete for it (rather than inserting an aging vet). That is how you find your talent from within.

I just realized Marchenko has been out with a bum ankle. That would be why we haven't seen him. But regardless - Ouellet would be better than Kindl/Lashoff at this point. Kronner - Smith Dekeyser - Ericsson Ouellet - Quincey I'd trust that when healthy.

how are we going to acquire a stronger D? I wish I knew hollands plan. If he was planning on using our young guns like Marchenko/Sproul/Ouellet I wish he would insert them into the lineup sooner than later so they can be broken in. If he plans on adding through UFA there isn't much available. I am feeling less and less supportive of a trade at this point because we have so many promising kids that would probably go the other way I just can't part with any of them right now.

I wish we were breaking in Marchenko rather than enduring Kindl. I'd rather have a kid making rookie mistakes than Kindl just making mistakes that he has made time and again.
