The hole is between the two atria - not a hole leading into the thorax like it sounds. It is normal in everyone to have a hole called the foramen ovale - which shunts blood past the lungs due to blood being oxygenated by the mother while in the womb - its actually quite common that this does not fully close (into a fossa ovalis) in people after birth - but it is pretty uncommon that this would not be found in a high performance athlete by now.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Edler is a lefty. I think that is too much to give up. Tatar alone would hurt so much. I'd give Jurco + 1st + cap dump and that is the highest I would go for Edler at this point. In a perfect world - Andersson + Kindl + 1st + 3rd + lower cap dump -
Glendening has decent wheels - I think most people would back me on this. You are the first person I have heart say that Andersson has top end speed and also the first person I have heard call Glendening slow. Agree to disagree I guess.
-
You can't be serious - Andersson has Bert speed.
-
Are there any pics of the designs?
-
Of course not. I'm only a fanboy of his on-ice play

The team is actually exciting to watch now. I used to just know what was going to happen out there with Bert and Cleary making the same halfhearted plays in the offensive zone and no creativity whatsoever. Now we play with speed and things happen out there if you look away for a quick second. Obviously or D is hurting but that happens when you have young guys playing all over the place - but at least they have the legs left to back check regularly and will learn with time. Sheahan has got to be my favourite young gun along with Nyquist. I was so down on Riley after the DUI last year that I didn't think he deserved to pull on a Wings sweater - but god has he changed my mind to the point where I am the biggest Sheahan fanboy out there.

Too much for Hanzal. Not a fan of flipping Smith for the sake of getting a RH dman. I'm not a huge believer that every pair needs a RHD but its nice to have 1 or 2 for pp purposes. Also any Dman coming out of Edmonton isn't what this team needs. I actually like the term and hit on the Vanek deal - it makes sense to sign him shorter term to a higher cap when he will still be effective (till he is around 35) rather than having him at 7mill till he is 37. And with the cap rising and our young guys on good cap hits we can afford to do this. At the draft I would actually prefer if we trade our 1st this year for a 1st next year - this gives us 2 firsts to deal to move way up in the first round and get our true 1C prospect. There is no rush to find him this year with all the prospects we already have in addition to our roster players.

Orpik would be a decent short term solution until our younger guys are ready - because Orpik is 34 after this season he will be out before he takes up room for the young guys developing. -
We shall see. I think if Holland truly clears house with Cleary, Bert, Sammy, Tootoo then there will be one open spot on the 4th line. It could be Glendening/Callahan/Ferraro as they all have RH shots and would fit nicely there. I see Sheahan being 4th line C and then Andersson being shipped out at some point as Sheahan has more upside and we would be smart to keep him as he is showing 3C as his absolute bottom potential. I like that we have SPEED everywhere on that roster. Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Nyquist Franzen - Weiss - Alfredsson (Jurco the year after) Tatar - Helm - Abdelkader Miller - Sheahan - Glendening/Ferraro/Callahan (13,14th forward rotating in) If we keep Eaves over Miller then I guess you bump Eaves to the 3rd line and Abby to 4th line LW? Otherwise you end up with too many RW's on the 4th line. Just seems to make sense with the Miller being under contract and our plethora of RW bottom line players that we keep Miller (who also is an ironman).

Edler for 1st + Pulkkinen/Andersson + Kindl + Sammy (cap dump) Kronwall - Ericsson Edler - Dekeyser Smith - Lashoff Quincey -
Miller. Ferraro/Callahan will take 4th line RW next season.

Cleary should be gone. Andersson isn't doing much for me compared to Glendening who also PKs well but has speed and tenacity and intangibles.

Meh I love the Wings way more than the Canadian national team - I'd also take a Wings Stanley cup over a Canada gold any day (being Canadian). -

Some non-UFA names RH dmen I'd be very interested in: A. Larsson Bogosian Other dmen I'd be okay with at the right price: Edler Girardi Might be worth making calls to these teams and seeing who is available without Nyquist/Tatar/Mantha/Sheahan having to be included. Our available assets being: -1st round pick (or any picks this year) -Jurco (only if it was for one of Larsson/Bogosian) -1 of Sproul/Marchenko/Ouellet/Backman -Kindl -Andersson -Pulkkinen -Ferraro I think there are enough assets of different variety to make something happen if Holland is really interested in making a move. -

If we could fill that spot with Girardi for the price of Kindl+1st I would be happy (depending on the contract he gets after). But I'd much rather have a guy like Bogosian for a 1st+Kindl/Ouellet/Sproul/Marchenko+Pulks. I just think at Girardi's age he will end up getting in the way of our youth coming up - we either need to go age 24-26 while trading one of our young d prospects or go 34+ without moving a d prospect. -

Wings need a solid dman. Tonight was exhibit A again. We don't need anymore firepower unless you want to start winning games 8-5. -
Z got manhandled multiple times that game with no call including one right before the end of the 3rd. It makes sense then that the Caps don't get a soft pp in OT then - but the refs do it anyway. I don't mind the Z no call if they don't make that soft call in OT.

Howard literally has a 50/50 chance of stopping Ovi - he just has nothing on Ovi for some reason. -

congrats refs! And somehow the NHL spins it that Ovi is a hero despite doing dick-all all game. If they put the whistle away for the wings do the same the other way. -

Z got molested out there with no call - he gets penalized for that "trip" earlier. Cmon refs at least make it LOOK like you aren't being one sided. -

If the wings had one big young RH crease clearing dman we would be unstoppable with datsyuk added to the lineup -

Refs probably consider this game a makeup for the last game where they wings had all the pps. -

So many times I think a guy will get down and block one and then they don't.
