9/22 Exhibition GDT : @ Chicago Blackhawks 5, Red Wings 4 (OT)
dirtydangles replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Pulkkinen forgot how to play hockey on Toews' goal. he was doing literally nothing and should have taken Toews as his responsibility never cheer against your real team for fantasy purposes... -
If Hudler was still here he more than likely wouldn't be putting up the kind of numbers he has in CGY. On the Wings he never had to be "the guy" and didn't get those minutes and opportunities that he has on CGY. When Huds played for us he was exposed on lower lines by his lack of physicality and speed - showing flashes here and there of great talent. Most of the time though I was fed up with him as a 2/3 line player. Tatar is all over the place and impacting the game even when he isn't producing points - something Hudler never did in Detroit in my opinion.

Signed Wings sign Brad Richards 1 yr, $3 million

I really like the look of #97... I wouldn't like someone else wearing 91 - especially if it is just a 1 year thing because it wouldn't be worth it -

Oh god... thanks a lot holland. you can't leave the fanbase happy for once. -
signed Red Wings sign D Mike Green (3-years, $18-million)

Great deal. Needed this guy pretty badly and didn't break the bank to do so. 6mill for only 3 years is pretty good and I personally think its below market value for Green. -

I don't like this at all. Even without Dats to start the year we have Z, Sheahan, Helm, Glendening all as C's. We wouldn't even need to bring Larkin up if that is what Holland is worried about. If we needed a C to come up we could see what AA can do as he is further along in his development. Richards can't skate anymore and won't fit with the fast paced style we are going for. I just see country club written all over this. -
signed Dylan Larkin turning pro... will play for GR immediately

Why would this indicate a trade is happening? Holland isn't going to do anything big and we all know it. Look at the track record. This is just Larkin joining GR griffins not making the DRW roster yet. Blash will have a look at how he does in the playoffs and then MAYBE take him along when he moves up to Detroit if he likes what he sees. Id rather have Larkin tear up GR for a year though and be a callup for inevitable injuries. -
Coaching Search Thread a.k.a. the Jeff Blashill Thread
dirtydangles replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Sounds like Holland wants to hire Blashill from this interview. Just needs to "talk" to him and make sure GR keeps going in the playoffs. -
Thornton is 6'4 and put up near ppg this year. He still has it.
-
Thornton would be a good short term fix and likely realistic with what holland will be willing to give up.
-
Either way we need help on D LOL
-
This is coming from the guy who said he was so happy to be competing for a playoff spot and that "all you need to do is make it to the playoffs and then see what happens"
-
There are always decent backups on the UFA market every year. Trade howard in a package for help - could be a 2C or preferably a top 4 D. SJS, WPG, PHI, NYI all need an upgrade at G...

Howard for a Dman makes a lot of sense
-
it'll be blash if not babcock. he has earned it
-
Not sure I trust anyone else though. HAS to be someone within the organization because otherwise we get somebody just trading away Tatars and Nyquists and gutting the concept of the Red Wings Way that is passed down. Too bad Nill and Yzerman are gone just as Holland really needs to go and we have nobody to step in from within the organization.

GDT ECQF Game 7 GDT : at Lightning 2, Red Wings 0 (Tampa wins series, 4-3)
dirtydangles replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
lets go boys. rally hard. REALLY need Z to show up tonight. Looks like his back is hurt but he needs to find a way. -
Could we not appeal the suspension? or did we do that already? or is that just the NFL?
-
Ericsson will be brutal on the top pair without Kronner. Just a feeling. Go DD, Quincey as top pair with Ericsson Zidlicky Smith Marchenko

ECQF Game 2 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Tampa Bay Lightning 5
dirtydangles replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Abby will provide net front presence in front of Hodor. Also allows us to bump a few guys down lines to create depth. -
Ericsson does nothing exceptionally and is prone to errors. However, he has been around for quite a while and can provide leadership to the younger guys. We don't want to have too many kids on the blueline at once.
