The reason Kindl is on the PP is because he gets shots through - thats it. Smith is a little riskier but I think we need that risk on the pp.

Helm is actually ridiculously good at puck possession style. He gets deep with the puck and usually makes a good pass back to the point to set something up. Our bottom 6 got much better when he arrived.

Anyone who thinks this team will be fine without dats and Z - look how bad we are without just dats. This is disgraceful. This game just looks so piss poor in terms of organization. So many missed assignments. We need dats back ASAP. We also need to subtract both of cleary and sammy.

I wish we went after Karlsson a bit seeing as they went after Z, Dats, and an oft injured Helm. Karlsson is the kind of player who really gets off his game when you play him physical. Would have liked to have Abby finish some checks and mix it up a bit with him to see if he can get his blood running.

This team doesn't necessarily need more of anything - it needs addition by subtraction then fill in the holes with hardworking young GR kids with something to prove. Having players with something to prove is part of being successful - look at Nyquist in his "proving" game. Players like Sammy, Cleary, Q, Bert have been there done that and seem happy just having the title of an NHL player - they already have big money, houses, families and are washed up - I want some desperation on our team.

I gotta say I had a massive man crush for B.Smith last night. The guy was playing like a stud out there. When he was up and yelling at Neil in the box I had this excitement and emotion inside me that I haven't had in so long since the wings got rid of the enforcer type. The most coveted players in the league are those that are special talents but can also bring sandpaper. Smith can be a huge guy for us if he brings this level of play every night.

I miss the good old days when we had a bottom 6 that contributed. Now we have Q who literally makes the team worse when he is on the ice.

There better be a strong suspension on this one. Cowen was going out of his way to put the body on guys all night and managed to injure one of the best players in the league with an illegal hit to the head. Shanny - its time to defend the player you claim to love.

Refs were in playoff mode today. Just completely inconsistent and overshadowed the game. One thing I'd like to point out is as the game went on the ref would take a good 20seconds before dropping the puck - drove me insane. Just get on with the game and don't make it about you.

Quincey has been +1 only 2 games this year and the rest he was even or -ve. That is pathetic. He has 20 PM without a fight. He has the worst +/- in the league. He has 3 assists despite playing about a third of each game. What a piece of s***. Not worth the contract by any stretch and has cost this team quite often. I think we have taken 140min of PK or something like that and one player has 1/7th of that with no fights. Pathetic.

I think Kulikov from FLA or Del Zotto from NYR could happen but we'd have to move a Dman. We have the following tradable assets: 1st round pick Andersson Quincey/Kindl (for space and cap reasons) GR fwd prospect (Not Jarnkrok or Jurco) Both of these guys have a physical dimension to their PMD game. I like them both and see them as an upgrade. Youtube their highlights if you don't believe me.

I think the wings could stand to add a few more vets.
