Agreed. Smith is looking like a dud out there right now. I think one big issue is that the Bruins have a bottom 6 with amazing compete level - we don't without helmer, eaves, nyquist. We aren't getting the puck down low as we don't have legs tonight. Gonna need some help from Rask to win this one.

I disagree. I think that Stevie would see how that role affected those players (a lot of drug use, brain damage and depression etc) and feel bad that they had to go through those things to protect him. In essence he might want to protect players from being put in a situation where they have to play that role. -

I just hate when pushing and shoving in front of the net after the whistle leads two guys who weren't even involved at the start to drop the gloves. You see this so much in the east. I understand two guys who have battled hard all game wanting to square off but just going for the sake of going seems unnecessary and also puts people at risk including the refs who have to break it up. -
Quincey/Smith out of the regulars. Sammy will be whipped hard when he plays. Cleary will continue to be bashed even if he plays well until Tatar and Nyquist are regulars.

Bottom 6 is pathetic - no grind and no heart overall. Bert, Sammy, Cleary don't have the wheels to grind down low and get the puck deep. This will end poorly.

Although he was playing with Sammy (the anchor) Jarnkrok looks very far away from the NHL. I hate to say it because I had such high expectations, but he has a long way to go. He hasn't even shown any flashes of anything really. He isn't being boneheaded or anything but just not looking like a future top 6 centre. -

I saw this too! I think maybe mule relishes the opportunity to play with his fellow countryman (and legend) and wants to show off a bit. Effort can be contagious sometimes too (but not in the past for mule). -

every year this question gets asked its cheaper to sew these names on the jersey than the fancy ones that take a lot of time to get right. Consider the sheer number of players we had up to start the preseason and the number of jerseys that would have to be made for them all.

Welp if Abby keeps motoring through the year as a power forward we can buyout Franzen next year and be rid of his contract.

He then goes and shoots himself in the foot. Last year it was Cola and Sammy and Tootoo to put us against the cap and block the youth and this year it is Cleary. Next offseason we need to clean house: - Amnesty Franzen if he doesn't perform/compete this season (his contract length is atrocious) - Let Cleary Walk - Let Sammy Walk - Let Bert Walk - Promote some kids and see what is available through free agency (that isn't 35+ or injury prone)
