FALSE. Tatar and Nyquist ARE ready to assume top 6 minutes. Nyquist already shows that ability and Tatar is an AHL playoff MVP. That is "earning it" on any other team. They can't prove it if they never get a shot. We haven't recently had young star talent because by the time they get a chance to establish themselves they are on the wrong side of 25.

I think most people would just be happy with a GM that avoids dead weight players and lets the kids fill spots as they earn it. Im not saying holland should be spending to the cap with the flavor of the month - i just want him to stop pursuing old vets instead of letting the kids play. Why draft them then?

Dear god please no. We need to let our kids develop. They have no value without nhl experience and we will have nothing of value in trades other than 35+ aging players.

Nill lowered the core players age down to match more closely to the promising prospects there. Additionally he addressed the need at centre. He also avoided including some excellent prospects.

Dallas is starving for centres. This works because seguin has potential to grow as he is only 21. Eriksson is on a great deal and a better player NOW but dallas is looking long term and seguin could be the answer long term.

If we sign Weiss and Brunner then we will be forced to move a forward even with one of our forwards on LTIR. I think this is why we haven't seen a Brunner signing yet. Holland wants to see what Weiss is asking first before making a decision and potentially deciding which bottom 6 forward to move to make room for these two guys. It would be one of Eaves, Tootoo, Emmerton that would have to go as Sammy and Bert are not going anywhere apparently. Also I just don't see how we have room for Cleary next season with Sammy staying. Sammy is really throwing a wrench in Holland's plans.
