Anyone watching the Mtl Sens series right now should see the massive amount of hits that are big that go uncalled (aside from gryba) due to the fact that there is no injury. Subban is flying around and hit neil high and this current game is more of the same. I just dont see much to separate these hits except for the fact that there is injury. In a game like this where you take a risk by being on the ice i think it should be okay to cause injury with a clean check and not get a knee jerk suspension.

I dont see how a hockey play that happened to cause injury is worthy of 2 games when an attempt to injur by weber got none. Last year it seemed they were letting guys get away with things in the playoffs. This year if you sneeze on a guy you are gone.

I have never liked the slash the stick out of the hand call. Emmerton almost got called last night. I think if the stick breaks then it should be a call but if a player isn't holding on tight enough to the stick it can be a back breaking penalty especially to go to 5on3. I was pleased the refs let that go. They would have called it 5on5. I agree. One problem is that there are small things like hooks that are valued the same as some things that can cause injury. Ideally there would be a different hierarchy of penalty minutes but I doubt we see that change. You should also be allowed to defer penalties like in football.

This will get a suspension and weber didnt last year with clear intent an clearly targetted the head. Oh NHL...

refs missed a faceoff won with a hand in the first period that shoulda been a wings pp. nbd. they always do poorly I just hope that they don't interfere with the game - which they haven't done this series yet thankfully.

For the people calling for a power forward that scores: We tried spot picking this with Sheahan and it didn't really work out that well. I say just go BPA at the place we are picking - if its a power forward then so be it. You can always end up moving a player later to fill needs. Bring the most value to the team possible with every pick.
