Datsyuk has been uninspired in the shootout this season. He has tried pretty much the same old stuff. I miss his unpredictability. Also whos idea was it to have Quincey and Cola on the ice at the same time? and against Toews too. I can't count the number of times I have seen a goal go in with a Red wing dman laying on the ice in front of howard. -
kinda a reputation pick there. I think Holland has slipped a bit in past years. He has made a few boneheaded decisions recently like Sammy, Cola, Gus, Quincey (trade) signings. There have been a few opportunities to improve the team that fell though as well. He is definitely a top 5 GM but im not sure if he is the best atm.

I think we will have a Luongo/Schneider similar situation on our hands in 3 years when other teams try to rip us off if we try moving Howard to make room for Mrazek. -
I'm sorry, but a sore pectoral muscle? That shouldn't impact skating. I know for a fact that many players (Stevie Y) played though far far worse than a sore chest. Its not that unreasonable to poke fun at him for sitting for such a small discomfort. I don't see how Ken Holland can afford to keep Sammy for another year. He has been the biggest waste of a roster spot ever and screams amnesty buyout.

no idea (i don't think so). I think its better if he develops his D abilities though - even if he is a liability from time to time for a bit.

I think its good to let the first game sink in a bit for DD. He played great, but I think we shouldn't put the pressure on him to be a constant starter right away. I think give him a game off then try him again, if he performs well then we will maybe see him as a regular.

I think if Cola drops the ball this game we will see DD against the Aves

Kulikov is the only player of interest and he is only a LH dman. So I'm not too disappointed in not getting him. I be kenny would have gone harder for him if he was RH. I still think there are other pieces out there at lowish prices like Rundblad that he should explore though.

Is Erat a pending UFA? if not then Fil doesn't have the same value.

Also I see Holland refuse to pay a little extra to buy a player's UFA rights ahead of free agency. This is a great tactic to show a player you want him and get the first crack at signing them. I won't complain about Holland's policy against offer sheets for RFAs as I guess that is the reasonable thing to do, but sometimes a GM has got to be a dick to meet team needs.
