Don't forget that Backman has been very strong in the SEL and could find his way to detroit sooner than later. We could end up with an embarrassment of riches on D soon enough.

White hasnt impressed me tonight. Lashoff wins on pure physicality alone

Smith is a lefty...

That is exactly who I would target too. However, the price would be higher but I'd be more willing to pay it.

Holland says those dreaded words, "Our Deadline Addition"
dirtydangles replied to Jedi's topic in General
Meh, holland should just hold onto his 1st rounder rather than trade it for a s***ty player. I'll take some injured players back and our 1st over a 4-6 dman and no first rounder in a deep draft. -
This rule must be grandfathered in. All rookies should be required to wear visors from now on. It is a requirement in the CHL and so it shouldn't hurt them to keep doing what they have been doing their entire life. After 10 years the league will be predominantly visor wearing. If players want to fight they can take the bucket off - plain and simple. Looking at what happened to Karlsson, if I was an owner I would insist that players change their socks to kevlar cut resistant socks. There is literally no difference in the feel of the sock. Players who don't wear socks should consider it cause thats just nasty lol.

not worth the assets. he is 33 already. I'd prefer to go for a younger player if we trade some prospects and picks for a dman.

If this happens (Cleary re-signed and Fil out) I will personally find Holland and commit him to a mental institution

Ryan O'Reilly signs offer sheet with Calgary, Avs match
dirtydangles replied to Jesusberg's topic in General
theres no way o'reilly actually intended/wanted to play in calgary. he used the flames to get the deal he wanted in colorado. 1st+3rd for a 2 year signed O'reilly isn't all that great of compensation. Look what a first can become (Kindl) and its way better to have the potential of O'reilly than even more unproven picks. I think the compensation would have to have been one bracket higher for the Avalanche to consider taking the compensation. -
2014 Salary Cap and overpayment projections
dirtydangles replied to Z Winged Dangler's topic in General
Minnesota won't feel the pain until guys like Brodin, Grandlund, Dumba and other youngsters are up for raises. They will move "all-star" but it won't be enough likely. -
king is in the king's lineup twice . i got too excited today and thought the game was tonight. sad moment when I realized otherwise.

Signed Wings sign (D) Brian Lashoff to 3-year, $2.175m extension
dirtydangles replied to Jedi's topic in General
I think probably 1-1.25mill per. It'll be overpayment at first but good in 3 years time. -
WATCH THE CANUCKS FIRST AND THIRD GOALS. Burrows subtly picks defenders both times and its borderline interference....
-
Does this mean Franzen starts on the 3rd line next game? I think of this as a 6-3 win more than 8-3. The Canucks stopped playing after the 6th and the last two were just icing really but not really earned. Good solid win.

lashoff was great last night and made some nice plays to shut down opportunities. Its too bad.

exaggerating. but I think athletes do have a responsibility to be in peak physical form to prevent the same injuries from happening persistently. being a med student I know that I have to be prepared for anything because thats my future job. whatever. I'm just really disappointed.
-
doubt you play professional sports either if you are posting on here...
-
starting to think we got a bunch of babies on the team. You are a professional athlete - this is what you do for a living - you'd think they would work hard in the long offseason to prevent these sorts of things from happening (you have one job - keep your body in good condition). Its like if a doctor had to take a day off work every week to study info that he forgot.

I wouldn't be opposed to the wings selling off some of the fat and going youth for a couple years. It would be great to have some extra draft picks to either trade for RFAs with or draft young talent. That would mean pawning off Franzen, White, Colo, Sammy, Cleary, Bert, Quincey for whatever picks we can get and then putting those picks to work in one way or another. We might not be able to directly use those players in a trade, but the picks that they bring in could be used for something.

How many 3-6 dmen are we going to carry? This team can't pick up another secondary dman. We need something better. We would be better served using the assets required for o'brien and adding significantly to them to get something better.
