I know that was hypothetical stuff to calm the fans down, lol, but still kinda weak example
-
found this on puckdaddy.interesting read from a caps russian fan. http://lastwordonsports.com/2012/07/10/alexander-semin-from-russia-with-lack-of-effort/
-
wow, that's what I call a BS comparison, lol 1.suter and parise were UFA's 2.doesn't make sense to trade #1 forward and #1 d-man(atm) just to get another two 3.we did offered ridiculous 12 year contract(s) as well
-
What's crosby's opinion on another Russian, potential media attention grabber there anyway? Does his majesty approve Semin's signing or...?
-
With Renney involved, our special teams could only get better

Rumor/Report: Semin to sign 1yr deal with Pens

It's not about love/hate.I'm not a fan of either, but both could improve our team so...get it done Ken -
Rumor/Report: Semin to sign 1yr deal with Pens

I just don't get why Ken and co. are ready to offer 3-year contract to a one guy with on and off ice issues(tootoo) and yet show a middle finger to another one(semin) And for the record,I approve tootoo signing -
The truth is somewhere in the middle of top 4 and out of playoffs team,6-8 spot I'd say. But,hey, without the pressure of contender label maybe our beloved team could make wonder next spring
-
I hope you realize that with the current roster and possibility of Pasha or Z get injured(god forbid) at the "wrong" time,we're not a lock for the playoffs spot.
-
Actually,to see us getting a top d-man out of west makes more sense, but with this enigmatic mode by Ken Holland last week or so I wouldn't be shocked if we trade with the Blackhawks

...by recycling the veterans that 'know the system'
-
Well no, but both have already scored 30 goals in the past, both add veteran present, both won the cup, both signed for a reasonable cap and Ken had money to sign one of them last summer.
-
A team that's been lacking top 6 winger since Hossa left shouldn't pass on UFA's like E.Cole and Ryder for a pretty reasonable cap hit they've signed last off-season in my opinion
-
Exactly...we had pretty bad experience with the Swedes so far,lol
-
The Wild got better,no doubt, but let's see first how they are able to handle the pressure of "must make the playoffs" situation. In this parity NHL,there's no such a guarantee of anything anymore, lol We've learned our lesson with Bobby Lang,Schneider and Hossa

My feeling is that we won't sign Semin nor Doan. Ken's working on a trade for a top d-man or preparing some brainwash speech how the team's been missing Lilja
-
Agree we'd sign him the same day Parise/Suter went to Minny if Kenny and co. were interested.
-
I'd take the risk on Quincey rather than signing one of the UFA's left.I don't see a player there that could bring us what Q doesn't have.

signed Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr
pucktividi replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Kinda sucks we didn't get Konopka. Abby-Konopka-Tootoo would be fun to watch -
Come on people.he's been here like 20 games or so and we are throwing him under the bus already. I'm not saying he's going to be a stud, but definitely want to see him playing more to judge him.
-
If the numbers are correct...get it done Kenny. Assuming some defensive weak d-men like carle or wideman got signed at 5+ mil. cap hit,Semin at 5 mil is a steal. Yeah I want top 2 d-man,but with Semin signed, giving assets for Yandle would hurt us a bit less.

signed Wings hire Tom Renney as Assistant Coach (3-year contract)
pucktividi replied to Jesusberg's topic in General
good move.another experienced hockey mind helping Babs should be a positive thing welcome Mr.Renney -
Ken is not perfect, but I think his plain was not to spend at the deadline and keep cap space to get Suter via free agency. The whole hockey world thought Nick won't retire yet,so having suter-lidstrom pair for at least one season sounds like a good preparation for the "after Nick" era for me. Just my 2 cents...
