    5/16 Playoff Gameday

Poor Hawks. They have no idea what they're in for.

    Boston/Philly Game 7

I can't believe I've watched this happen twice in two weeks. Wow! Coming back from 0-3 WTF??
  3. Saw this one on a Red Wings blog: It's not masterful but sums things up nicely I think.

WCQF Game 6 GDT: Coyotes 5 at Red Wings 2

I'd rather them boo like Red Wings fans that care, than hear them silent like a Raptors crowd that doesn't really give a f***.

    The Team and Their Goalie

So I happened upon this website that was linked by the Red Wings official blog which had this statistical analysis of how the Wings skaters played of front of Osgood compared to Howard. I don't know where he gets the stats from but they're very interesting, he has a whole bunch of stuff I never knew existed. Anyway, some interesting little facts from the post: I thought it was a pretty cool blog and some others would find it interesting.

    The Team and Their Goalie

Wow there are some sensitive folk here. Ozzy-bashing? Seriously??

    Calgary at Colorado tonight

Still, I'd rather take on VAN or PHX, than CHI or SJS straight up.

    The Team and Their Goalie

Right but this is a good way of statistically evaluating how the players are in front of the goalies. The author clearly points it out a few times. Sure, the two stats (GAA and this) are connected, but the observations like Fil's and the fact that only THREE players are a plus with Ozzy, are of interest to me.
  9. Good analysis but maybe you could compare USA to another nation for a second if you want to evaluate if they're the world's best. If you do that, it's obvious the answer is no.
  10. As bad as I feel for Homer, with a strictly selfish Red Wings POV, this is the best thing that could've happened. No-one could use two weeks of rest and rehab than Holmstrom, while 4-7 games for Franzen to continue to get match fitness and work on his timing is also great. Although, in his short return he hasn't looked to have missed and hockey let alone 4 months.
  11. That makes no sense. You're saying someone is in the top 10 of the top million. Being in the top 10 makes being in the top million redundant. You cannot seriously be using this as a point.

    The Mystery of Detroit

A funny one about the Wings. I don't quite agree with it all, but it raises some good points. The Wings did look pretty listless for most of the game, and when they wanted to, they outplayed the Blues. http://puckbusiness.blogspot.com/2010/02/m...of-detroit.html
  13. Was this the same guy that asked "Do you know Steven Stamkos?".

Is anyone watching the Caps and Pens

    The Caps are obscenely talented.

Is anyone watching the Caps and Pens

He's not injured he just pussed out for that shift. When he didn't get a call he pretended to be hurt for a bit to justify coming straight off and then played the next shift.

How does Brad McCrimmon STILL have a job?

Good God. This place is nuts.

2/6 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Kings 4

No they didn't. They let in 3 goals in 3 min but never had a 3 goal lead.

    Washington Capitals

I just checked and they did win 9 straight in the regular season as well. Oct 18 to Nov 9, 2007 we won 9 in a row.

    Washington Capitals

I distinctly remember two 9-game streaks in the 2007/08 season. One was in the postseason though.

I know, right? Fancy wanting to watch the New Jersey Devils huh?

    Kovalchuk traded to New Jersey

Your opinion notwithstanding, Ovechkin is a 2-time and the reigning Hart trophy-winner. In Kovalchuk's much longer tenure in the NHL, he has achieved zero in comparison. So to suggest he should earn more or even as much as Ovechkin is absolutely ridiculous.
