Wow this sharks team is just superior to the wings.

Maybe thats why hes playing so good atm? Jeremy Roenick coming up with excuses why Detroit is winning, what a joke that guy is.

It's not like the Sharks are coming out and dominating the Wings when they win (much like the Wings did against them in game 4 last year). Instead every Shark win has been a 1 goal game, which we all know could possibly have gone the other way. What the sharks are doing are the little things that can change the outcome; like embellishing a penalty, diving, frustrating the other team (spraying ice repeatedly on howard). IMHO, thats how the sharks won last years series and its how they pulled away with a 3-0 lead this year. They came into this series KNOWING what to do and how to take a small advantage that would make all the difference. It worked for them befor, rinse and repeat.

That was a disappoint. Need some major changes this offseason imo. Losing to this joke sharks team 2 times in a row is a ******* bummer.

Howard is having a much better playoffs right now than Niemi, stats wise. Wings need to raise that GAA.

Franzen and Datsyuk together? Getting sick of this pairing I really dunno what Babs sees in it.... doubt we'll see any production from first line. 2nd line is not bad looking, I can see the potential there. 3rd line no comment.

IMHO, I think the wings (besides abby ofc) came out too passive and un-aggressive in fear of getting called on bad penalties (end of game 1). So this set the tone for the wings in the beginning, and with the added calls it kept up the lackadaisical play throughout. From what I remember there weren't many penalties at the end of the third which is when the wings really started pushing the offensive play... A great example I saw in the 1st period is Helm had a chance to completely dominate someone in the offensive zone behind the net (much like the hit he placed on Jovanaski or w/e in the phx series), instead he stopped right at him with no contact at all.

Babs needs to do a total shakeup of the lines, something new and different. If this team expects to win the next 4 out of 5 and advance, they're going to need a ton more of determination. When were not seeing much going on until the last 5 minutes of the third, there is obviously a motivation problem. How many times this season have we seen that; where the Wings play a half ass lazy game until the end of the third they start turning it up... too many to go unnoticed... 60 mins of hockey. Is it too much to ask for

Yeah I totally agree. After the PHX sweep I was really convinced det gave up that lazy half ass play we experienced at the end of the regular season... looks like theyre back to the normal groove.

Lines need a HUGE shake-up for game 3. Hate being the one to say it but its prolly too late anyways.

And the major concern coming into the playoffs on this board was goal tending...

Lol did you try using "playoff intensity" into a noun? For real though, if you think the Wings lost their "playoff intensity" over a 9 day break and are now going to sit back and take it from the sharks, well you are sadly mistaken sir. Remember, you are playing a team that has been in the postseason 20 consecutive times, I think they know how to manage their time off right.
